"Ishin has 4 restaurants in Berlin and I must say admit that I have only been to the one in Charlottenstrasse.I visited the Ishin in Mitte nearly ten times and have tried many different dishes. What I particularly enjoy at Ishin, is the wide variety of fish – I don't think any other Japanese restaurant in Berlin has this many fish choices. My favourite dish is the "Sake Soboro Cey-Ro" and the "Sake Aburo Don" – they are amazing! The restaurant is always very busy and hectic, so if you are going there for pure purpose of enjoying traditional Japanese cuisine, this place is perfect – if you are looking for smth fancy/calm/romantic, maybe not the best option. All in all, highly recommend it!Btw, great prices and free tea for everyone! :)"

I had the salmon sushi here for dinner. I'm not familiar with the quality of sushi in Berlin, but I think what I had was not comparable to the sushi here is comparable to other places I have had (in other countries). It is not bad though. So, if you really miss sushi, this should be ok.

This place was packed when I visited and I shared a table with a lovely Japanese couple. They were regulars and gave me a hint about what to order. The service was very quick. This is a no-frill type restaurant but the staff were friendly enough, the food was delicious and the price was very reasonable. View menu

After a long day of sight-seeing we did not fancy to venture far from our hotel for dinner. When we saw that several tables in this restaurant were occupied by Japanese guests we assumed that the food would be good. We were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helped us with selecting our dinner. We did not select any sushi although it looked very good on the table next to us. Instead we went for noodle soup, tempura and some rice dishes which all were delicious and very reasonably priced. On my next visit to Berlin I will certainly visit this restaurant again.

We visited this restaurant after passing it by accidentally one night before. After reading the menu placed outside, we decided to try.Once we sat, we felt like we were in a traditional restaurant in Japan as they automatically serving us with free hot green tea, and free refill. Nice interior.Friendly staff, all food we ordered were delicious. We tried soup with fish (saba-miso-ni), hot udon, yaki gyoza as starter, sushi mix-menue, salmon rice bowl (sake-ikura don) and grilled chicken meat balls rice bowl (Yakitori Don). Too bad we came almost closing time, so no time for the dessert.Absolutely will recommend and visit this restaurant again some day.
