"We called here for a cup of coffee and a bite to eat before heading back on a 3 hour trip home. We asked if our dog was welcome and she said yes we were the only ones there at this time. After sitting, the cafe started getting busier as well as the post office. The lady serving was on her own running both the cafe and post office. The only word to describe her is rude. She definitely needs to learn some manners and respect her customers she made us feel very uncomfortable and un welcome. One of our coffees got spilt and I waited in the post office for 10 minutes to ask for something to clean it up as there wasn’t even a napkin in sight! I tried to help clean it and got shouted at by the owner saying ‘only I can clean it up not you’ she then just said £4 for the coffees no please or thank you or any consideration for the fact we wanted to order food. We paid and left immediately without drinking the rest of our drinks. Just avoid! But if you do choose to go, you will probably be turned away very abruptly anyways as she doesn’t allow more than 2 customers!"

A lovely little cafe with a view of the rest of a delightful town. The food and tea were delicious and the lady running the establishment was friendly and efficient. A warm fire on a wet and windy day was also very welcome.

I visited today for a light lunch, Absolutely loved it well made great cafetière coffee, banging sandwich and the lightest coffee sponge cake, great service, newspapers galore and cosy with fab views over broad street, small menu well executed

Called on a wet February morning with a wet dog. The service was as friendly and accommodating as you can get. We shared a bacon and a sausage sandwich and a pot of tea . All made to order and were excellent particularly the bacon). Very good value too.

We found other reviews to be an accurate reflection good food and drink but unconventional service. Overall, I think the owner was anxious to get things exactly right and was trying her best to be in two places at once but if you are easily offended, I'd try elsewhere. View menu

Lovely, quirky place. The lady who runs it was friendly and welcoming to my husband, me and our dog too. Limited breakfast menu but when the host explained the reason for this is that she also runs the post office at the same time we understood why. Had a lovely breakfast here.

This cafe seems to be part of the Post Office and run single handedly. The owner was very pleasant and running both quite capably. The scones were amazing just melted in your mouth. The cafe is quite quirky with items to buy, books to read and lovely pottery and china. A definite place to visit when you find yourself in Montgomery, Powys.

My friend and I came here on Thursday for coffee and were given a warm welcome by the charming lady who single handedly runs the cafe and the post office. We were offered newspapers to read as there was a short wait whilst she attended to post office duties. We ordered coffee which was extremely tasty and delicious freshly baked cakes, also excellent. It is a rather unusual set up but most pleasant and full admiration for the obviously very hard working owner. View menu

It's difficult to give this place a rating; much better to describe it as an experience. First off do not pop in if you need to be guaranteed service there and then. Secondly, do read the menu before entering..... it's the only one there is. The opening hours say it all. This is an establishment which works just fine if you time it right. We did. But if you don't expect to be evicted until Denice can cope. Which is likely to be 20 mins hence or thereabouts. Denice runs the cafe and post office/shop single handedly so patience is needed. But the tea and sandwiches are worth the wait and could not be faulted. We would not hesitate to return and, to be honest, it's almost a must just to watch v...

This very small cafe only has three tables in and is part of a post office/shop. When we arrived the lady seemed very flustered and this carried on through our visit. The food was amazing but to make life simpler I would recommend the following reduce the number of types of tea. 3 options on decaf is not needed put the menu board inside rather than outside. It’s hard to remember what was on the board and would save the lady reciting it every time someone comes in put cutlery, condiment, tea cups and serviettes etcon bureau by the door. The lady kept going into the kitchen to get things remove or wash seat cushions. have a full sign on the door. This would reduce the number of people coming i...
