"a beautiful place to relax and a cup coffee and a snack after browsing the stack of books. j’s is owned by an expat from the states, but he is long enough in madrid to be one of them. it was obvious from the short time I sat on the theke that he has faithful masters who love to come and chat with him. I had 2 cappuccinos and also went down to look around. the books are well organized by type and carr and the prices are very reasonable. my cappuccinos were delicious, the environment was great, and the owner couldn't have been nicer. stop them when they shop in the opposite or if they are looking for a book in English."

We stopped by, had some drinks and enjoyed the books. Good tunes too. Would recommend! There are thousands of books downstairs.

Grab a beer and a book? At the same time? This place is worth a visit. The guy there helped me find a book I’ve been looking for and was friendly and super helpful. A place with character well worth the visit!

As a college student from America and bagel connoisseur this book store had everything to cure any homesickness. The bagels came with potato chips which was a “big plus” and were very fresh and delicious. The staff was very nice and the story associated with the store is adorable. View menu

Inventive toppings that are just plain awesome! INCREDIBLE other baked goods as well. Great concept of bagels and books! This place is so friendly and cozy and great deals on fantastic food. Love the seasoning on the potato chips too. Perfect place for Americans if you are feeling a little homesick and just a super fun vibe and delish food for everyone else. Truly a little gem in Madrid! View menu

Bagels are hard to find in Europe, but this place has great! I really like the cheddar jalapeño and they give them a good amount of creamy with it. you can get a bagel with cream cheese plus a moimosa for only 5 euro. each mimose after is only 1 euro more. it is a lot and I recommend this place very much. the seats can be spicy at the weekend, but there is a whole staircase down with a large table so that they do not find too hard of a time to find a place.

As an American, I was excited to have a small place that was like home. I spent some time here writing and enjoying something to drink. The cider is really good (my favorite) and they have a decent cafe con leche! The staff/owner were always very kind to me, and make my visit enjoyable! I've also attended the language exchanges on Thursday nights here, and really enjoyed those as well! They have a lot of books to choose from, and it's fun to just peruse downstairs. Nice place to go in Madrid! I definitely want to try the bagels too!
