"OK, so the place isn 't fine dining, it 's not somewhere to linger all night, it 's a bit scruffy and the staff have seen it all, so if you 're a bit precious, or you 're trying to impress somebody, don 't go there. But if you want really good, tasty Chinese hotpot, then do go. We 've walked by the place a dozen times over the years and thought 'nah ', but this time we saw people eating hotpot and thought 'why not ', and we are glad we did. There 's loads of other stuff on the menu, but we opted for hotpot. Now there are several options, but we went for a slightly Thai influenced one with beef, with side orders of pak choi and mooli to cook in it (from a long list of options seafood, meat veg). We 're not big eaters so ordered a single serving size (rather than the per person one), and didn 't have any rice or noodles, which people with bigger appetites might want. They fired up the burner on the table and the pot arrived a thickish broth with loads of big chunks of beef, along with loads of tofu and big fresh chillis. We popped the veg in and started hot potting (if that 's a word). The broth was full of flavour spicy but not dangerously so and the slow cooked beef was beautifully tender. The bill, with service and one glass of half decent merlot for Mrs Ex Punk, as I was driving, was £36. You can 't knock it at that price. So, it 's likely to be our go to place in Chinatown."

Great food, service and atmosphere we had a fabulous set menu. Will definitely try hot pot next time, it looked, and smelled amazing. Thanks

This place was recommended by a friend, although the food was good enough, the service was absolutely awful, we were made to feel like prisoners and told where we could sit while being watched constantly in case someone who wasn’t paying for the buffet hotpot had a taste. The worst dinning experience I have ever had .

This is our favourite restaurant in China Town. Yes, the surroundings are scruffy but the Wuhan Noodles are the best in London. As a vegatarian I love the Aubergine with Chilli sauce and a cucumber salad. My partner raves the Salt Duck Egg Yolk cod. The staff are helpful and the food comes quickly. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Came with my son back in January 2020 and it’s still my favourite Chinese steamboat buffet dinner in London where we can eat all we can and have a lovely time. The bone broth is amazing and you can have a vegetarian version too. Lovely place. Need to book a table if large groups as waiting time may be long for evenings or weekends.

Visited on the Chinese New Year. Great service and although busy we were not rushed, waiters were really helpful. We had a very enjoyable meal. The prawn toast was the best I've ever had. Being vegetarians we had a tofu dish which was good, the waiter even heated all our dishes up as we needed a break! Would definitely go back there.

Visited with family a few days ago. Not too busy unlike other places nearby. Food is okay perhaps typical of cheaper Chinese restaurants. Duck stir fries contained little meat but were okay. They add a 12.5% service charge. Main issue was £5.80 for each portion of very ordinary fried rice which is a rip off. Basic surroundings. Service was okay. I think there are much better places nearby.

We decided on the hotpot, half spicy and half bland. The offering was good but I wouldn't go overboard. The fish side broth was disappointing with lots of bones in the fish slices, which was extremely annoying that I gave up on eating any more fish. The dim sum offering, which we tried, wasn't too tasty. The only thing that tasted was the spicy side broth, giving the blandness some life. It wasn't a good experience and I'll give this place a miss altogether.

We read that this was the best place in London to get wuhan dry noodles.... Whatever they are ha ha. What I can say is whether they are the best or not, I don't know but they are fantastic. So is the aubergine hot pot. We have been twice now and yes, service is hit and miss pretty much like any Chinese place in London and yes, they do have some pretty bad looking generic Chinese dishes (sweet and sour etc) but if you go for something authentic, it's fantastic and most the?mains are around £8.

We arrived in Chinatown on the Saturday between Christmas and New Year just as folk from the theatres' were coming out. Everywhere was so busy with queues outside and chose Joy Luck purely because there was no queue! Good choice the surroundings are basic but we were shown promptly to a table and given a menu. We opted for one of the set menu's and have it say it was excellent value for money all the food was hot, tasty and swift service. Would definitely go again if in the area and wanting a good value meal.
