"I didn't expect much from a restaurant in this area that doesn't necessarily count as one of Mannheim's attractive tourist regions, but I was absolutely positively surprised. We were there on Christmas Day. Immediately I noticed that it was totally full, which can be a good sign. We had our place in the side room and were first alone, but this room also filled very quickly. The staff were very attentive and friendly, the drinks also came fast, the food took something, which was absolutely ok due to the rush. Waiting was definitely worth it. We had duck breast with red cabbage and monasteries, all absolutely at the point and extremely tasty. As I said, I didn't expect much, and I've always been over before. Now I know what treasure hides behind the walls and was guaranteed not the last time there. Such nice family places that are guided with a lot of heart should be supported, otherwise everything will soon be dominated by interchangeable chains. So on the bacon path, I think the path will be worthwhile."

Mannheim, known for its grid layout and Baroque palace, offers hearty German cuisine. Try "Sauerbraten" (pot roast) and "Spätzle" (noodles) for a true local flavor.
