"On our first visit to Salzberg I fell in love. Yes, the city is lovely. Yes the views are stunning. But it was this little cafe that won my heart! Our stay in Salzberg was short, but we made repeat visits to this little cafe for breakfast. The atmosphere was a lovely combination of luxurious textures, muted colors and modern elegance. It was a true Austrian breakfast experience. We enjoyed pastry, croissant, cheese, meat, egg, orange juice, and the most exquisite coffees I've ever had! The atmosphere was one of casual elegance. Being an American, I was amazed at the delicious diminutive portions and the "not too sweet" but "just right" pastry. It was an experience in refinement. Everything in Austria is smaller and slower...like the way things were in America in the 50's before the "supersize" and "super quick" came into fashion. The coffee was smaller but more flavorful. The servings were smaller but served on little silver trays. The visual presentation filled my eyes! My water glass was only 3 or 4 inches high and had a tiny spoon resting across the top. It was so cute! Orange juice was freshly squeezed. and presented in a small goblet. I had Topfenstrudel, which was something I've never tasted before...like a lightly sweet cheese soufflé with a hint of lemon set in a thin layer of phyllo dough. Wonderful! The staff was friendly and spoke English which was a definite plus! Konditorei Rainberg I miss you!!! If I could have packed you in my suitcase, I would have!"

We came here once for breakfast and once for some cakes. The breakfast was really good and the "Plunder" tasted very well. However, the cakes are not really good - not sophisticated or special. Rather avoid them.

With Illy coffee made to perfection, good selection of cakes and strudels, a nicely designed small living room atmosphere and a friendly service, this is the right place to pause and truly enjoy a coffee (10 minutes walk from the city center), without the touristy stress of old city coffee shops. we were close and so came twice to the breakfast. his memory of the quiet, formal Austrian coffee houses I remember many years when I first visited. It's pretty small. everyone speaks in hushy tones, but friendly. the breakfast is very diverse and...good. many locals who buy cakes looked beautiful.

A rainy afternoon stopped to warm up. A pretty way from the crazy crowds of the old town, there was this little cafe that you almost overlook when you pass. A warm welcome to the bus stop. Limited selection of cakes and cakes...what a good sign later in the afternoon, but everything was of a very high quality, excellent coffee and friendly efficient service. View menu

came beyond this small place for a walk. The staff was very friendly and the cakes were nice. Well presented. Although the café was busy, the staff had time for everyone. Observe an employee help an older man with his order she was... stationary and friendly. Good to see these days. Would you highly recommend and if we are ever back in Salzburg will definitely be back.

Stopped in on a rainy afternoon to warm up. Quite a way from the mad crowds of old town, there was this smallish Cafe which you almost overlook when going past it. Thankfully located right at the bus stop.Limited selection of cakes and tarts, which is a good sign later in the afternoon, but everything was of a very high quality, excellent coffee and friendly efficient service.
