La Marine - Menu

Nice place to chill and watch the world go by while having a beer and eating mussels in curry sauce with fries. Good friendly staff they gave us extra bread to soak up the sauce.Reasonably priced.

Have eaten here before and it has maintained its standards. A Comprehensive menu with plenty of seafood choices Nice to sit on the terrace and enjoy the food. Good, quick efficient and friendly service. The food was fresh tasty and reasonably priced.

Stopped there when waiting for our boat to set sail. You can eat inside or outsie on the terrace.They do have a good quality/price menu (3 plates for 11.50 euros)Waiters are somewhat confused. As everyone else here seems to say, we visited this place waiting for the evening ferry to Portsmouth. We ate outside as it was a nice day, regretted this as the table next to us smoked like chimneys, it was horrible. I had oysters (which...were nice) but my merguez sausages were mostly burned. My wife's salmon fillet' was full of bones. Kids had pasta and pizza and were happy. Can't recommend, I'm sorry to say.

After a disappointing meal previous night at Le Goland which is next door, we tried La Marine. Opted for mussels which weren't the best I've had but, they were pretty good & there were more than I could eat. One of my friends ordered fish & chips which resembled what I had the previous evening, a frozen fish fillet that had been warmed up so, probably not quite worthy of a 4 rating but definitely better than the previous night.

Not horrendous but nothing special either. You pay more for sitting on the terrace than inside. Portion sizes of moules et frites are small. Service is average. Husband ordered a Heineken but was given a glass which the waiter called heineken but clearly it wasn't and when the bill arrived it was indeed itemised as "Baron Affligem" - not great!Lots of other alternatives in the are probably wouldn't go here again would try another View menu

We three had lunch here on a Sunday. The restaurant is well-patronised justifiably so. The menu is extensive and there are daily specials even at the weekend. The waiting staff are very good at what they do and their eyes are open for...even a slightly raised hand to make sure everything is right. There is a pronounced bonhomie and relaxed atmosphere. Equally important a well-developed sense of humour. Portions are copieux'. Loved it.

We use the Ouistreham port for the overnight ferry quite often (about six times a year), and because of the late night sailing, tend to eat at the port. This was the first and last time to eat at La Marine.We were welcomed and attended to immediately (goo start), but the plastic covered menus were grubby and frayed. I asked if the chips were 'la maison', and the waiter grumpily replied 'non'.Both our meals arrived cold, and were only very average.The 'Dessert' followed. My wife's apple tart was burnt underneath. My crepe had obviously been re-heated in the microwave oven, and was like rubber. There are so many eating establishments in the town, and next time we will spend our money elsewhere...

I have been making an annual trip through the port for the last 7 years and always thought this looked an inviting sort of place. As we were especially early for our return ferry this year, we went in for a drink and to kill half an hour.I didn't have a meal so I can't comment on the food but the place seemed well kept and was as I imagined. My hot chocolate was very good and the service was prompt. There was a bit of confusion as to the way they do the ordering as the bar staff weren't overly communicative and there was a group of us ordering at one, but nothing that was really a problem. My score is only not higher as I think I should have been there longer and had a meal to justify it as... View menu
