"Best carcase cassoulet. Yet I tasted several and that of the modern tavern remained better. I highly recommend because apart from eating well you enjoy the warm welcome, it looks like we were waiting for you. during our carcase stay we ate here three times and every time it was very good. regional dishes are simple and good. "Lovely little modern restaurant with a number of set menus and also a la carte options. My girlfriend and I both opted for the €16 3 course menu. I opted for the goats cheese salad, cassoulet and creme brûlée while my girlfriend had the pumpkin...soup, steak and ice cream. The goats cheese salad was quite nice and the creme brûlée was excellent. My girlfriend’s pumpkin soup did not taste of anything and the cassoulet was not to my liking but edible (my first time trying it, there was probably nothing wrong with it! , my girlfriend enjoyed her steak (like a rib eye but slightly less tasty and thinner, great value for €16 and there was a great selection of tasty ice cream. The service was good with one waiter in particular speaking excellent English and the red wine was nice. The place lacked a bit of atmosphere but the staff were welcoming and for what we paid, it was a very enjoyable experience."

"In early August, my aunt, uncle, husband and I decided to travel the Canal Du Midi by boat. On the 5th day of our trip down the canal, we moored in Carcassonne. We planned to spend two days exploring the famous city. My aunt and I happened to find Le Bis-troquet while looking for Les Helles and waiting for our husbands. By late afternoon, we were all famished and looking forward to wine and lunch. This place did not disappoint! My aunt and I enjoyed our yummy tartines (open-faced sandwiches), while the men devoured their hearty sausage special of the day. We were not rushed even though lunch service was over. We leisurely enjoyed our wine, meal, and coffee before making our way to the castle. If we ever get another opportunity to travel the Canal Du Midi, we will definitely stop here again!Bonus points for any restaurant rating: The owner is a sweet and charming man who warmly greeted us several times throughout our meal. Two thumbs up!"

"Nothing special with the food. The nem of chèvre was acceptable, the salad served with it had too much dressing. The cassoulet had only a minute piece of duck. The pork was too dominant and too fat. No salad served with the cassoulet. The service was not professional, the waiters and waitresses chatting together or smoking instead of attending the customers... The wine (overpriced) was poured directly. Although sitting on the terrace, a a very strong smell of deep-frying oil was coming from the kitchen."

"Tucked away down a side street near the Basilica, this is one of Carcassonne's better restaurants. We booked ahead and a table was waiting. There is a good wine list and we ordered a local wine which was delicious. We then chose from the menu. The starter of seared scallops was wonderful as was the pablova, which was a special dessert, but the restaurant was let down by the main course. We chose the specisl dish of the day which was veal. The accompanying vegetables and sauce were wonderful but the veal, in the form of a chop, was tough and chewy. I'm afraid that I did not enjoy it and left quite a bit. Not a success I should have chosen one of the other standard selections on the menu."
