"la tagliata is a stunning Italian restaurant in fitzrovia. in the interior the decor is beautiful, finished to a high standard with low lighting and comfortable seating. the atmosphere is relaxed with friendly staff who let them take their time over the delicious food. there is an impressive wine list that has been carefully selected to adjust the menu in the offer. it was such an impressive menu that made it hard to choose what we wanted! we started with la mozzarella di bufala: buffalo mozzarella served with mixed leaves, cherry tomatoes and sicily caponata £10) and i gamberi alla Fra’Diavola: king prawns in a spicy tomato sauce £10.50) both were incredible. the mozzarella was amazing quality and tasted so fresh and tasty. the caponata was full of taste and provided a perfect complement. we loved the big juicy garnels that were cooked so well, the sauce was really delicious and the crispy thin focaccia was a great additional note. for our net we had the current special la carbonara con tartufo nero: long pasta with egg yolk, pecorino cheese, smoked guanzimale and black pfeffer, with black summer truffle £23) and la fregola ai frutti di mare: Sardinian pasta with surgeons, garnel, slang skalopp18 and musche.50 the truffle paste was rich, creamy and so delightful. they can taste the quality of the ingredients in every bite. the Sardinian pasta was just as delicious and was almost like a risotto. the sauce was full of taste and the meeress content was very generous. for our desserts we chose the classic tiramisu £7) and la torta al cioccooato e mamdorle: warm homemade chocolate served with vanillaeis and mandelkrümel £8). both desserts finished the meal perfectly. the tiramisu was fresh and creamy with the coffee aroma that came through but not too exaggerated. the cake was chocolate and rich and we loved the ice and the couli combination. we loved our evening at the Italian restaurant la tagliata in fitzrovia and felt well cared for by the friendly and competent staff. the authentic Italian food was impeccable and we loved the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant. it is a little on the pricier end of the spectrum, but they will certainly pay for the quality ingredients here."
