"The small Lazio restaurant is located on the Minories, just a 1-minute walk from Tower Hill or Tower Gateway station. It is open for breakfast and late afternoon lunch only. We were staying at the adjacent Travelodge and decided to have breakfast at Lazio. The seating area was nice, although most customers seemed to be getting food to go. I had a delicious breakfast of toasted brown bread with sausage and egg, while my wife opted for a very soft tuna roll. The teas and lattes were also very good. For lunch, they had a great selection including breaded chicken escalopes, in the Italian style of a tavola calda or canteen like the Italian Autogrill franchise. If you check in to the adjacent Travelodge before 3 p.m., they charge you £20. I would recommend spending that money on lunch at Lazio instead and keeping Travelodge to a three-hour stay; that's what we would do next time!"

I love their pasta, it's the ideal place for lunch (sit on or take away). My favourite is spaghetti carbonara and peperoni pasta. They do half and half so I can have both my favourite pastas for lunch. I usually come here with my colleagues and we sit downstairs as it is quieter there.

We needed to have early breakfast on Sat and found lots of places were either closed or open at 9. We saw this shop opened at 7:30am so we rushed in. Flexible menu with very good service We ordered toasted sandwich and coffee which were really delicious! Price was inexpensive. Highly recommended!

"The decor of the restaurant is really lovely. We were greeted as soon as we arrived. We placed our orders quite briskly. We received complimentary bread and olives, which was a nice touch. Our Bruchetta starter arrived a whole hour after we arrived, which was disappointing and far too long to wait for a cold and easy starter. The menu did not specify that the prawns on one of the bruschettas were raw! The waiter said service was slow because they were busy with Uber Eats and Deliveroo. Clearly not prioritising paying customers, who pay a 12.5% service charge, unlike online customers. Eventually, our main courses arrived. My pasta was only just cooked, so close to being undercooked and hard. They ran out of ricotta and replaced it with the tiniest amount of cheese so I asked for some more. Since ricotta was supposed to be the main ingredient of the dish. The tuna steak was lovely, and the veal could have done with a thinner breadcrumb batter. The sides, chips and zucchini, were £4.50 and very small portions for such a cheap side. So that was slightly disappointing. Overall, the pinot grigio white wine was very drinkable, and they brought tap water when we asked for it. And the whole staff were very polite. It was a shame the service was so slow, and the food could have been better for the price that it was. We also felt it was overpriced for the location it was, zone 2 London and not in the West End."
