"We came here for dinner on the night we landed in Paris. Our flight was supposed to arrive at 8:20pm, and their last order was at 10:15pm (be aware that even though they offer 10:30pm reservations on La Fourchette, they don't actually do that), so I initially canceled because I was worried we'd miss the reservation. They were exceedingly nice and understanding during the email exchange, and so when we arrived on time and realized we could still make it, we had our hotel call them, and they were able to accommodate us. Particularly for a late night dinner, the meal was better than I could have expected. The servers were kind and didn't rush us at all even though we ordered the chef's menu. Particularly memorable was the artichoke soup which was divine, the best I'd ever had with bits of artichoke mixed in with the velvety smooth soup. My husband, who is usually a non-meat eater, said the lamb was one of the best he had tasted. If you come here, you must have the bread, even if you are trying to cut down on carbs. It's absolutely delicious. On this night, we had something that looked like parker rolls, but actually tasted like a nice focaccia, and a perfectly baked sourdough slice. If you are a dessert lover like me, you will love the long list of some of the most scrumptious choices I've seen at a restaurant in a long time. The menu came with a caramel mille-feuille, which I enjoyed, but I also saw tantalizing plates of soufflés, berry tarts etc etc making its way toward other tables. I would love to come and just eat all of their desserts. The restaurant was located inside the Bristol hotel, which is a former palace. The warm and unpretentious service combined with the amazing food even made me curious about staying here next time. Pricewise, this is a one Michelin restaurant, so it's in the typical range of similarly rated establishments. Frankly, however, this was a better meal than two-Michelin places we've been to on out previous trip two months ago, so from that perspective we considered it to be, maybe not a bargain, but completely worth it."
