"Having failed to locate our chosen restaurant, the Inattendu wine was very appropriate and tasty. We enjoyed watching the two friendly chefs cooking our meals (and other people's) in a very professional and laid back manner. The food they produced was excellent. One of us had pot au feu - very traditional with bone marrow, potatoes and very tender slow cooked meat (the best he'd eaten and he's French). My husband had Foie Gras Burger with sautéed potatoes (he loved it and he's fussy). My daughter and I shared the faux filet de charolais (steak) with green beans, mange-tout, mushrooms and garlic, which was beautifully cooked - crispy on the outside and rare in the middle as requested. Deserts...we are a sharing family and tried each other's. The framboisier lived up to the expectations set by the glamorous presentation. We looked forward to this from entry to the restaurant and it was light and fruity. The caramelised pineapple with pistacchio ice cream was a delight as well. Off the beaten track, very lively and popular due to its ecellent food and atmosphere. We would be happy to go there again if we lived nearer."

An excellent up-market bistro with a wonderful atmosphere. The chef, Guillaume, cooks in front of your very eyes. We had a delicious dinner with good service and excellent wines. A return trip is called for!

to my taste the best restaurant in Montpellier. a real experience to renew. We have never been disappointed, because the Chef Guillaume and his team have a real consideration for their customers. This is also measured by the quality at all ends as the respectable quantity of the plate. also leniency make sure that the service by combining efficiency and great delicacy is.

Ask yourself: why spend 11 euros for a synthetic pizza when for 18 euros you can eat a dream of a pork chop? The cooking here is fabulous. The wines excellent, the service delightful and attentive. And when the check arrives, a surprise for us Parisians: a fabulous dinner for the price of a glass of champagne (we have paid 35 euros a glass!). Worth getting the TGV just to com eat dinner here. Fabulous every time.

This restaurant is truly exceptional in that it has both wonderful food and ambience. Chef Guillaume prepares everything in an open kitchen so it is fun to watch and he uses the freshest ingredients and turns out meals that are pleasant to view and wonderful to eat! He, his assistants and wait staff always make us feel welcome and we do not pass up an opportunity to dine there and occasionally attend special wine-tasting dinners.Don't pass this up!

Small place somewhat tucked away, popular with a local kind of hip crowd. The kitchen is right in the dining area. I had the Ris de Veau Torte which was a pastry covering a rich tasty filling. My wife loved the Gratined Oysters. She also enjoyed the steak with crispy mushrooms for a main dish and I had a nice braised lamb shank. Everything was well prepared and tasted freshly made. What would have sent it over the top for me would have been a pinch of salt. I would definitely return.

What an amazing place. I recon, it is the best restaurant in Montpellier. The food is excellent and not expensive for the quality and quantity. The chef is really kind, nice and more than all HUGELY talented. I use to do a lot of restaurant (working around the world) and I really hope a restaurant of that kind can open near my home (living in bangkok) All the dinner was fantastic, I haven't been disappointed from the first step in the restaurant until my last. Will definitively come back here on my next trip. Please if you read this review, don't hesitate, just go .

With that kind of price, I expect better quality of food and service although it seems to quite popular for locals.Food - The raw tuna appetiser (€11) was good portion and tasty. The steak (€24) was hugely disappointed. I asked for medium rare, but most parts were either well done or **** raw. The sautéed vegetables on the side were overcooked too.Service - Very understaff. For most of the time I was dining there, the restaurant had at least 25 but only with one waiter. The kitchen had 2 chefs and a kitchen hand. From the time I asked for the bill to made the payment, it took 20min.

This small place, in a quiet neighbourhood a short walk from my B&B outside the centre of Montpellier, was delightful. It's tiny and I ate at the bar watching the staff prepare the food. The staff, from chef to busboy, all seem to enjoy being there, obviously like one another, and engage with the diners. The menu is small and I enjoyed my "pigfoot" salad (it has a more enchanting name in French), and my sweetbreads floating in a delicious mushroom sauce. I left the wine selection up to my server and was not disappointed. I would have gone back the next night but they were fully booked.

I'm sorry, but this was not what I expected, after reading the glowing reviews. It was the only reservation I made in Montpellier, and unfortunately that night's menu didn't include anything that appealed. The patio looked dreadful, so we ate inside, which was tiny but nice. Ended up ordering lobster, with no enthusiasm, especially at 35 Euros. And it was served with a cream sauce, entirely superfluous and too rich. I did like the vegetables. My husband, who loves sausage ordered that and pretended to like it. Later, he said it was pretty awful. Since it was my birthday, they were nice enough to give us two glasses of champagne, gratis. But I wish I had picked another place to have dinner th...
