"What attracted us to this restaurant rather than any of the others nearby on the restaurant strip beside the canal was the bright appearance with a blue and white theme. Almost empty when we arrived at 12.15, the restaurant was almost completely full within fifteen minutes. We heard nothing but French around us so assumed this wasn’t a typically tourist restaurant although menu translations were available. Lunch was a long leisurely affair, perfect for a sunny Sunday and just what we like, although we could see this could be irksome if you wanted more time to sightsee. There was a variety of choice including several menus. All four of us chose from the E23.50 menu. The starter with oysters, sea snails and mussels which arrived was from a cheaper menu, lacking the prawns and deficient in quantity. When we mentioned this, it was quickly rectified with a smile. The Soupe de Poison was certainly not the best we’ve had but nonetheless acceptable. We each had half an overcooked lobster for the main course. When the screw fell out of the claw crackers we were unable to mend them. The waitress couldn’t mend them either so disappeared with them, never to be seen again. Cheese was pretty average and the crème caramel was not good – grainy with caramel distinctly tasting like the sauce from a tube one puts on ice – cream. The house rose wine was acceptable – just! Overall a very disappointing lunch – probably two and a half stars so we’ve been generous and given 3!!"

Nice staff, very poor food. Pasta drowned in sweet and sour sauce, scallops just defrosting, moelleux de chocolat was a reheated brownie.

Nice menu with a good variety of dishes, Food we ordered was excellent. Asian salad was tasty and the cassoulet of mussels was creamy and spicy. The frites are very homemade, potatoey and crispy and yes it is a bit pricey but where isn't if you are looking at sea!

I came back after 2 years and found the restaurant in good shape. Nice view on the sea and small terrace. Inside contemporary style. The food is very good and well presented. The service is fast and very friendly. All together this makes you feel comfortable. I consider this a plus amidst the very large number of restaurants in this town

What a welcome sight, having trawled restaurant's trying to find a restaurant that serves food after 9.30, we came across this restaurant with a really obliging owner who could offer mains and desserts, which is all you need. The food and service were excellent, the veal was delicious, especially the wild mushroom sauce. Definitely recommend but be warned if you need a taxi after early September you have virtually no chance.

I don’t know where to start ultimately excellent hospitality and service, super good food and really nice overview on the sea. The owner did his best to make us feel like if we were his dearest guests very warm, nice and attentive. Service was excellent and food was so fresh (had oysters, shrimps and fish) and delicious. Next time in LGM I’ll return to this place. Highly recommend this place. Here you’ll have one of the best of your time in France!

We visited with my family for Sunday lunch in September. The restaurant was busy but not full. We ordered wine and water. Sadly it took 3 more attempts to get the water! Mains ordered, 2 arrived and then about ten minutes later the Mussels arrive, top off ready to dive in cold! Called waiter over they took them back another 15 mins later arrived sadly not fresh reheated turning them to rubber so I was left with no lunch! Paid and left sadly I would not recommend

We took some time picking which restaurant to visit as there were so many to chose from. This one was busy, which is normally a good sign and had a nice view, and on the side of the canal. The staff were very welcoming and we sat right on the roadside. The cold seafood platter looked great with Lobster, Crab, Crevettes, Mussels, Snails, Prawns and Oysters. The display when it arrived was very good and it was accompanied by bread and garlic butter. The Oysters were exqisite and the prawns, snails very good however, the rest including the Lobster, Mussels and Crevettes were wet and tasteless as if they had been frozen. The Mussels were in fact stuck to their shells. Very dissapointing particul...

It was our first visit to Le Grande Motte. It's an interesting sea-side town. New and definitely not traditional. It's been mostly well done with upkeep kept to a decent standard. On reflection I think that October was a good time to visit, sort of between seasons not too busy but not dead. On appearances alone the Grand Bleu stood out. It was the busiest restaurant we saw and we didn't have a reservation. We just managed to get an outside table. We were helped by an extremely energetic older man who could have been the owner. Next time we'll book. We opted for the 30 euro menu, prawns for me and fish soup for my wife to start, we both had sea bream for the main and a sort of chocolate souff...

We spent two days in La Grande Motte with another couple, and having had a rather unpleasant meal at Entre Terre et Mer the first evening (see review) we decided to venture further from our hotel. We decided to stick with local fishy menus and eventually fetched up outside the Grand Bleu, where a guy giving the impression of having maybe drunk a little too much but nevertheless quite humorous with it tempted us inside. He chatted a while at our table with us and then went around making sure everything was running smoothly as it should. The chef appeared with a platter of scampi to tempt us probably the last they had available that evening and wanted to move on, but there was no heavy sales p...
