"Never again!!! Ten of us sat down to eat in this restaurant. The chef was struggling to keep food cooking in torrential rain!!! When we asked after an hour how long the food would be the proprietor shrugged his shoulders and said maybe four minutes. By now all food had been taken to the kitchen to be cooked. When we eventually got food after 90 minutes not only was it cold but totally undercooked. We called over a waitress and asked for it to be replaced. We were very polite and felt sorry for the girl. The proprietor came over and we explained the situation His reply was stop crying, you English are always the same!! Nothing but trouble We couldn 't believe what he said. We decided to leave and would recommend nobody uses this restaurant. Unbelievably rude and racist."

The onion soup was much too strong, but the other dishes were good and the service fast and kind. In front of the cathedral, it makes it a very nice location

Restaurant directly across from the Cathedral, you walk into what looks like a bar and you find yourself in a restaurant with a superb menu. Recommend it highly.

Restaurant would not have been visited if we had read reviews beforehand. However The food, service, value was excellent. Would recommend. Had an excellent dinner

The descriptions on the menu were promising. Too bad they don't deliver. The free appetiser, the starters and the main course were all obviously reheated food from the freezer.

This place has a great location looking onto the impressive Laon Cathedral. Learning from experience in other French restaurants, we decided to go with the lunch specials. Turned out to be a good decision! The food was freshly cooked with good ingredients, very enjoyable. We ended up going for dessert because what we saw arriving at other tables looked so good! All in all a very good meal!

We walked in on a Friday evening without a reservation and were greeted warmly by the host and seated immediately. The host and the waitress were patient with our broken French. We had an excellent meal - smoked salmon and asparagus soufflé as starters and then duck breast with a citrus jus and chicken with a creamy sauce. The vegetables were quite well prepared. Desserts were sweet and tasty.

If you 're hoping for decent service and food, make sure you don 't look like a tourist. If you do, you 'll get industrial bread while locals get better (and fresh) one. My melting piece of beef was burnt to crisp and the crab rilllette was drowned in cream. The service was awful with the old couple of owners constantly quarreling in front of the guests and repeatedly addressing their young help in an aggressive manner. To be avoided at all costs!

We arrived at 4pm in freezing fog on 3rd Jan. Laon was dead! Only Le Parvis was open. Hot chocolate lifesaver! Madame the proprietress acted as an informal Office de Tourisme, telephoned her friends and fixed us up with hotel accommodation around the corner. Brilliant! Came back for superb evening meal, delicious well cooked food, fantastic Duck Parmentier & Rum Baba, and all surrounded outside in gothic swirling freezing mist under the towering front of Laon Cathedral. A Harry Potter experience!

The cathedral fills the view if eating on the terrace. First night, friendly, helpful server. Food tasty enough to come back. A bit more expensive but, there is the sunset happening on that magnificent cathedral wall while you're eating!!.... Second night, the owner took exception to the fact I refused to sit next to a noisy machine on the terrace. Rude, noisy, somewhat off putting and embarrassing.... But we sat at a quiet table, excellent waitress and along comes a big flute of champagne, from our owner! And later...cherries in kirsch. Both nights all our dishes were very tasty and service, with the one exception, fine. I'd eat here again
