"Having been unable to get a table at our chosen restaurant we took pot luck on this one. After two weeks of wonderful restaurants I cannot say how bad our experience was. The fondue was without any flavour and the accompanying frites (they were not frites as I know them and were overcooked) were cool by the time the fondue was served. The salad, which amounted to a few lettuce leaves added nothing to the meal. We declined dessert and coffee and found an excellent creperie which saved out evening. We also found the décor depressingHaving read other reviews perhaps we were unlucky but will not be returning to see if that is the case. I wish I could say something positive but it would not be true. For what was served it was expensive."

We had cheese fondue for 2 and meat/oil fondue. Both were nice and the waitress was friendly and helpful.

If you want to try the authentic French fondue in a very old-French-style restaurant, this is the place to go. It's around 30-35 per person, but you have to try it at least once in your life. Service is great and the guys do their best if you do not speak french. Higly recommended.

it wasn't a busy place, and we expected a little more. we ordered something that looked good and essentially it was hot dogs and not something we would normally eat. the fondue was good with the brot, but the hot dogs, not so much. that is a meh, I can skip such a place. the service was not very good. It wasn't a busy place and we were expecting something much more. We ordered something that looked good and essentially it was hotdogs and cheese. Not something we would normally eat. The fondue was good with the bread but the hotdogs, not so much. This is a meh, I can skip this kind of place. Service wasn't very good.

I think the restaurant was quite overpriced for Rouen, we went for the basic cheese fondue, added some charcuterie as extra and carafe of red wine. The cheese was ok, bread was terrible, potatoes were good and charcuterie. Wine average, service was ok. I wouldnt go back again, but it wasnt bad. Bill came to around 50 euros for two.

the fondue (I went for the basic one with tomato sauce) is delicious and despite we ate sooo much, I was really perfect the following day. Staff is very kind, polite, ready to suggest nices stuff to try (like the Breton Mojito - delicious!).Pricewise, the place is on average but 18 euro per person for a big big pot of fondue is really a great deal!Go there...! yesterday had a nice meal in la maison des fondues. the second time we have eaten there and it has a decent sort of fondues, of savoyarde including a cheese with apple juice instead of wein, by oil with bark meat, lamb, duck or kangarous. and a bouillon based that I did not try. Yesterday I went for la sublime, that was lame, bark meat and deceit. it was really raised. the lamb went out of some ground very beautifully in the oil, and I finally discovered what is for. I was not a big fan of maigret de canard, but this fat layer on the outside is absolutely delicious when dirty. yum.

Had a nice meal at La Maison des Fondues yesterday. Second time we've eaten there and it definitely has a decent variety of fondues, from Savoyarde - including a cheese one with apple juice instead of wine, through oil with beef, lamb, duck or kangaroo and a bouillon based one I haven't tried. Yesterday I went for "La Sublime" which was lamb, beef and duck. It truly was sublime. The lamb went very nicely encrusted in the oil for some reason and I have finally discovered what duck is for. I''ve been no great fan of Maigret de Canard but that fat layer on the outside is absolutely delicious when fondued. Yum.
