"I was surprised to find this place at first but of course we're sort of in border country aren't we? It was a random spot on a random stop on a long drive from the south to Belgium. I don't know if it's a chain but it had that 'themed' feel to it with lots of wood that was made to look rustic and a bustling beer-keller atmosphere. We were stuck on the periphery somewhat, by the window but maybe that was because we hadn't booked. It did seem popular - quite a few families, adult groups and couples. Quite surprising - the staff were friendly enough and service pretty quick but the ersatz Germanic wilkommen didn't really ring true.So the food - flankuchen featured but i opted for a sauerkraut & meat medley, about as German as you could wish for, and a generous and realistic plateful appeared which I couldn't finish for fear of exploding. My wife had baked cod and was apparently happy with that too. No room for puddings in either case.So - lots of individual things were right but the overall impression was a bit fake."

You get what you see. Average kitchen, but friendly waiter. Nothing fancy, but good for a quick bite. Pricy. Interior is nice.

We ate here twice as a group. Service was excellent, the food was very good with enormous portions. Good local wine. No problems at all for anyone.

Big, busy and well-organised restaurant right in the middle of Metz. Good stop, only a few minutes from the Autoroute and easy parking at Parking Republique. Good food, professional service.

Friendly staff, challenging (if you are not local) menu, good, choice of beers. Proficiency, quality and enthusiasm - if could only all chains be like this, travel would be easy and, probably, boring! View menu

Food was good, but it took a while to get it served. A big group (+30 people) came in after we placed our order, fed, and out before we received our meals. Gave up trying to get someone to take our dessert order. Restaurant was clean and servers were friendly.

As you enter the restaurant, your first impression is "This is Germany!" And this impression lasts. Maybe it's the way of cooking, maybe it's the way the dishes are served, but the general impression is: German. Interesting, and rather unexpected. The quality is OK, though, and there is nothing wrong with the wine. View menu

Mittlere Preise.

Despite making a resevation 5 months in advance, confiming a week prior and stopping by a day in advance to triple check, they screwed up our reservation for 23 people! Part of our group arrived 10 min. early and told them the rest would be a few minutes late and when we arrived at 13:35 for our 13:30 reservation they had already given away one of our tables! The elderly waitress was unfriendly and didn't want to serve us a la carte (as we had agreed upon when we reserved) as she mixed us up with some other group that had ordered a set menu. Luckily we could clear this up. Food took a long time but I can forgive that as we were a large group. Shrimp on the seafood salad STANK and we asked to...
