"I had a great experience at a restaurant in Barnstaple. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. I started with calamari, which was the tenderest I've had in a long time; it practically melted in my mouth, and the portion size was generous. I then had scallops, which could have easily served two. My partner ordered the seafood paella, and it was also a great size for the price. He followed that with sardines. We also shared a bowl of wonderfully crispy fries. We've been there and will definitely return. I highly recommend the tapas!"

Loved our lunch here today, four girls two babies and one child, we all had a lovely time, delicious wine and Nachos, and very attentive staff, who made pasta which wasn't even on the menu. Thank you all, loved every minute. : View menu

So amazing our second visit here and the food was stunning the first time, the calamari was out of this world, we even offered a passer by to try a bit cos she looked like she was having a bad day, she loved it too. The staff were attentive and very friendly, atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. Can't wait to go again. Yum

This was only our second visit, and we felt very welcomed. The bar staff, especially Ben and Harry, were exceptional. The food recommendations matched the quality of the place; everything was perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. In my opinion, it offers the best bar and service around, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Barnstaple or the surrounding area. Thank you once again, Craig and Gav from Northants.

We initially planned to just have coffee and one of their delightful hot chocolates, but I couldn't resist trying the steak burger, and I was blown away! It might just be one of the best burgers I've ever had. The meat was cooked to perfection and remained juicy throughout. The fries and salad that accompanied it were also fantastic, along with all the toppings in the burger itself. The staff were welcoming and friendly, adding to the overall experience.

"If you find yourself anywhere remotely near Barnstaple and are looking for a place where you will be welcomed with open arms and fed amazing home cooked food at a great price then step into the cosy interior of The Castle Inn at Landkey where Creighton, Carly, Darren and the team will ensure that you leave with a full tummy and a smile on your face! We had the pleasure of eating Sunday lunch there today and I only wish I’d thought to take a photo of our fabulous plates of food before we devoured every mouthful. Succulent 27 hour cooked roast beef that melted in the mouth (yes, the other reviewers really don’t exaggerate about how fabulous this is! was accompanied by yummy roasties plus one of the biggest Yorkshire puds we’d ever seen all served with a tasty gravy and a lovely bowl of freshly prepared parsnips, carrots, broccoli, red cabbage and peas. Don’t hesitate to visit if you need gluten free, vegetarian or have an allergy nothing was too much trouble and the staff will guide you through what you can have. The delicious vegetarian tart was accompanied by all the trimmings and a separate veggie gravy which was also eaten with relish. All of the above was washed down with a friendly chat with Creighton who personally stopped by to check we were enjoying our meal and to see if there was anything else we needed to enhance our dining experience…there wasn’t but it was great to know that any requests would be welcomed and accommodated immediately. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area and we only have 2 regrets: firstly, we were too full to have one of the fantastic sounding desserts and secondly, that we only discovered this lovely gem of a place on the last day of our holiday! See you soon and thanks for a lovely experience. Jan and Ian"
