"We had our wedding reception at the Pyne Arms at the start of the month and it was just perfect. Everything had been planned so well and decorated so beautifully. It was full of fairy lights and bunting which made it look so cosy. The tables were laid exactly the way we wanted and everything just seemed to be in the right place! The service was spot on, so friendly and so attentive. The food was just delicious, the meat for our roast was just mouth watering and all of our guests enjoyed the food. One quoting it was the best food he has ever had at a wedding- and he’s been to A LOT of weddings. We also got to stay the night of our special day which made everything so much more relaxed and the room was even decorated just for us! It was all topped off in the morning with a well needed full English breakfast. Just perfect. We would more than recommend the Pyne Arms for food, B B and of course your wedding reception! Thank you Amie all the staff for going above beyond. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

Very friendly staff and fantastic food. For a place that's tucked out the way it got busy so I would definitely recommend that you book a table if you're eating.

Amazing food and excellent service, staff very friendly welcoming. The pub itself was cosy, with some awesome pictures and very comfy chairs. It is in a lovely location with a good car park. Coconut prawn starter and the Sea Bream on smoked salmon risotto were superb. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We arrived just after 4:20 PM for a quick drink and were informed that the restaurant was closed, even though there were still many people inside and they advertised a closing time of 5 PM. We were turned away with our two children, so this will be our first and last visit! It seems quite unreasonable to turn away paying customers. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1 View menu

I visited this beautiful restaurant during my trip, and the experience was extraordinary, including both the food and the service. I highly recommend the scotch egg for first-time visitors; it was one of the most delicious things I've ever had! The chutney, perfectly cooked egg, and cheese created a scotch egg that was simply perfection. It was fantastic. Unfortunately, since we live in Kent, we won't be able to return soon, but when we do come back, we will definitely visit again. I rate it a perfect 10 out of 10!

I forgot to specify how I wanted my sirloin cooked and was disappointed to find it grilled. I personally don’t enjoy the charred flavor of grilled steak, and it also turned out to be more medium than the rare I had requested. As a result, our dog ended up enjoying more of it than I did. While I should have clarified the cooking method, I believe the menu should indicate how significant these preferences can be. Overall, the rest of the meal was competent. I would rate it around 3.5 stars, but I can only choose between 3 or 4.

"If you find yourself anywhere remotely near Barnstaple and are looking for a place where you will be welcomed with open arms and fed amazing home cooked food at a great price then step into the cosy interior of The Castle Inn at Landkey where Creighton, Carly, Darren and the team will ensure that you leave with a full tummy and a smile on your face! We had the pleasure of eating Sunday lunch there today and I only wish I’d thought to take a photo of our fabulous plates of food before we devoured every mouthful. Succulent 27 hour cooked roast beef that melted in the mouth (yes, the other reviewers really don’t exaggerate about how fabulous this is! was accompanied by yummy roasties plus one of the biggest Yorkshire puds we’d ever seen all served with a tasty gravy and a lovely bowl of freshly prepared parsnips, carrots, broccoli, red cabbage and peas. Don’t hesitate to visit if you need gluten free, vegetarian or have an allergy nothing was too much trouble and the staff will guide you through what you can have. The delicious vegetarian tart was accompanied by all the trimmings and a separate veggie gravy which was also eaten with relish. All of the above was washed down with a friendly chat with Creighton who personally stopped by to check we were enjoying our meal and to see if there was anything else we needed to enhance our dining experience…there wasn’t but it was great to know that any requests would be welcomed and accommodated immediately. We will definitely visit again next time we are in the area and we only have 2 regrets: firstly, we were too full to have one of the fantastic sounding desserts and secondly, that we only discovered this lovely gem of a place on the last day of our holiday! See you soon and thanks for a lovely experience. Jan and Ian"
