"We have just returned from Afternoon tea at Amberley Castle. The Castle is stunning as are the grounds , the food was excellent however it was let down by inattentive staff we had a very long wait at the beginning and in between the sandwiches and the cakes . We were never asked once if everything was ok and we were happy with everything . I had to ask several times for more tea and the one waitress never smiled once . Such a shame this was an occasion for three ladies who had taken care of our mum and I wanted it to be special . Let badly down by the service . Service: 2 Location: 5"

"The restaurant is situated in the Kimpton Hotel, and the decor and atmosphere are truly stunning. It’s a beautiful old building that adds a sense of history to the experience. The dining is tapas-style, with 3-4 dishes per order, and both the food and drinks were delicious. Service was a bit slow, likely due to the restaurant being quite busy, but this didn’t detract from the experience, as the space is very spacious. I can't wait to return and try their Sunday roast!"

"Lovely, stylish restaurant. Lots of seating with a beautiful rooftop bar. A beautiful place to meet, enjoy cocktails or anything from a wide and varied drinks menu, that like the dining menu, has something for every taste. Food is exquisite. Prepared to an extremely high standard and presented professionally with an unassuming flourish. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. This restaurant is highly recommended. We visited on November 2nd,2023, on foot of a recommendation from a regular patron. We weren't sorry. We enjoyed the dry aged burger, fries, fluffy, light focacia bread and, onion rings. A glass of red Portuguese wine and sparkling water. We didn't finish eating everything, obviously, but it was gorgeous. No service charge, so we left a well deserved tip. Hope this helps you decide your meal destination."

"I received a voucher as a Father’s Day gift and had the choice of this venue or their Glasgow restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was very tasty. I chose a traditionally Scottish meal on this visit, while my wife opted for a more traditional Italian dish. Both meals were great, as were the sticky toffee pudding desserts. Despite skipping starters due to our smaller appetites, the portion sizes were just right - we felt satisfied without feeling overly full. It had been many years since my last visit to the restaurant, but it was just as good as I remembered. We will definitely be returning in the future."

"We managed to get a last minute booking which surprised us, given that it was a Friday evening in the west end. When we arrived we received a warm welcome and given a nice table by the window. We ordered wine which was decanted at the table by our waitress Valentina. We chose mussels to start followed by pizza and sergios cod provencal along with a tomato and onion salad which they kindly prepared despite not being on the menu, (not always easy to achieve in many other restaurants) The mussels were tiny and many of the shells were empty, however the marinara sauce was tasty. The pizza, quattro formaggi was incredibly salty and doughy. The cod dish was bland and in our opinion the fish was undercooked. We were hungry so ate what we could. But left a considerable amount of food untouched. When the waitress came to clear she could obviously see that we had not enjoyed the food and asked how it was. She was also surprised that no-one had come to do a quality check. She said she would go and speak to the manager, which she did. After we paid and made to leave the manager then approached and offered us a limoncello which we declined. Sadly we were disappointed and despite there being many celebrity photographs adorning the walls, we found the experience underwhelming."

"Expensive particularly when service was terrible In summary the food is great, when it comes, unfortunately the service was terrible. The staff numbers are too low for the covers they take on; when I spoke to the manager(s) they admitted there were not enough servers well that's easy: don't over book! We opted for the Emperor set menu with wine flight; £220 12.5% service. On most occasions our wine only came after we had eaten the associated courses. Despite asking them to serve wine earlier. Part of the problem, in my opinion, is that they have a very noisy cocktail bar with a DJ: this puts a huge demand on the bar and staff they just cannot cope! Our specialist anniversary was well and truly ruined. I shall not be going back again and would advise others to do the same. Shame because the food is good. The offer of a free drink was suppose to compensate me? I think not, best to tell others about my experience."

"Good food, although my dumplings are waiting for it and were cold and I found a la carte choice quite limited. No mineral water, but expensive filtered water (I hate restaurants with this demolition technique), only Greek wines. Service was attentive and great overall. Food (especially net) and beverage prices are on the expensive side, expect 100-150£/p mini."

"Living locally allows us to visit this restaurant at a moment's notice and enjoy the beautiful views of the estuary on a late summer day. It is ideal for avoiding the tourist crowds. We chose to sit inside and order from the bar terrace menu. The service was exceptional, with water provided for our table. Despite our waitress admitting she was new to the venue, everything was very efficient. We had a variety of small plates to share, including fries, lamb kebabs, duck salad, and Thai balls with dipping sauce. Everything was delicious, except for the duck salad which lacked crispiness and quickly became soggy. It could benefit from added texture, such as small wraps. The prices were a bit higher than expected, but the food was tasty and well-presented. We, along with other guests, asked for the air conditioning to be turned off, and our request was promptly granted. We are excited to try their Indian tasting plates, which seem to be offered annually and are highly sought after. We will have to book quickly before they sell out."

"What a find this place is! This is food about as good as it gets and the menu is ever changing based on what is locally available. The menu is simple and perfect, a choice of a 6 course or 8 course tasting menu; with a wine pairing option. They will happily alter to suite vegetarians etc. Everything we had, from a light broad bean and mint velouté soup, 20 minute sugar/salt cured fresh mackerel blow touched to crisp the skin, local beef and two deserts was outstanding. The staff were very professional, knowledgable and helpful. Decor is modern, clean and very attractive. There is absolutely nothing I can say negative about this place. Apparently others feel the same way, it is becoming extremely difficult to get a reservation. Interestingly the kitchen is open and a hive of activity. Steven Edwards (an award winning British chef) and his team clearly know what they are doing and are not afraid to experiment and surprise. For example; bread is a light, warmed brioche bun with a glossy Marmite glaze. Absolutely stunning, especially considering I do not like Marmite! My wife, daughter and me spent a very enjoyable 3 hours dinning at Etch and left very happy and pleasantly surprised. The 8 course tasting menu is not over indulgent, just right for anyone with a normal appetite. You may have noticed all my reviews to date on Yelp have been 5 star, this is deliberate. Life is too short to focus on that which does not make us happy. This is why I restrict my reviews to those things/places that make me happy and appreciate life. Sure, I have been to some really awful restaurants, but, like I said, life is too short to spend time thinking and writing about them"

"great pub! service is good, it can be a bit slow when busy, but this is common with most pubs. the pub itself has great options of alcoholic drinks and a good option of alcohol-free drinks. the food served here is also great. the menus are beautiful, they have a little something for all, including a few vegetarian options. the prices are also appropriate. the pub is also well kept with regard to cleanliness. the staff is friendly and helpful. the reason I gave the pub four stars instead of five is because of the toilets. they definitely need someone who cares for the toilets, as well as a bit of a refurbishment of the toilets themselves. all in all a great place."

"rocket seems to me a very woman-friendly type of restaurant. there are now two rocket in london and I went twice to the one in canary wharf, especially because I went there for the first time, I ordered something I didn't like and I wanted to give them another chance, and also because I had left my camera home, so I couldn't have good pictures for the first time there I was. why I say this place is kind of women's menu is because of theirs. her menu has main courses that are described as “Salads” and also pizzas, and I am the perfect example for someone who sometimes wants to eat an salad and be healthy and sometimes loves to pamper in a pizza. I had no pizza in Rocket...read more"

"as one of the best places to eat in the covent garden, the great queen street is known for seasonal and hearty British cuisine, where reservations must be due to its constant popularity. with a non-pretentious menu that is heavily based on fresh products, it changes daily, so that they can expect something new every day. coming in a full dining room with a reservation of 6:30 o'clock, it is popularity among the londoners obvious. under a small table in the middle, we ordered the two dishes recommended by our friendly waitress. the roasted hake served with the new season borlotti bran with a hot snail dressing was srumptious and I have sweetened the sauce with the free brot. my sister-baked lemon sole served with a cream brewed bisque was just as beautiful and we both cleaned our dishes with lightness! we were more than impressed by the eating and service of great queen street. the dishes allowed to shine the ingredients and it is a No-Frills Sorta menu, where edible flowers, unnecessary foam and bites are nowhere to find. the well-known staff can recommend the perfect drink pairing and despite the work, they were friendly, attentive and very efficient. the perfect way to finish our trip in london!"

"I have visited the yayoi Kusama exhibition, which I was very disappointed by how overwhelming the display was, although it was an interesting experience that there was not much for it. However, eating up for disappointment, which was out-of-the-box with great windows so that she was inviting about the themes the atmosphere was ludicrous. the staff was very friendly and despite the busy they were! also the food was great, I tried a new starter: carburized rag-Romesco sauce, it was a nice light on the palette and tasty, which was part small, but at the end I worked out when I was filled after the main thing. I had the confit dee for the main that was made beautiful, the vegetable bacon was a nice note and packed a lot of taste. far better than expected."

"We had a pleasant dining experience at this restaurant, with options suitable for both vegans and omnivores. Although the menu was limited, there were still choices available. Unfortunately, there were no desserts listed, though it's possible they may offer a vanilla ice cream option. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The vegan mushroom Wellington was delicious and cooked perfectly, though it may have been slightly salty, perhaps due to the rich gravy served with it. Overall, we were grateful to find a place where our family could dine together without any difficulties."

"Sunday evening. We have visited the Ram Inn on several occasions during the past 2/3 years and each time we have been disappointed with the meals. Each time there is something that we have ordered from the menu that is not available. For example, one time they did not have the particular type of potatoes advertised on the menu and another time I ordered a medium/rare steak and when it arrived it was REALLY well done. There was no problem, they did do me a new steak, but by the time it arrived the other people in our party had finished their meals so I was left to finish my meal whilst they all had to wait for me But at the beginning of July we had heard that things had improved and...read more"

"Our waitress was Rugile, who remembered us from our last visit and was very attentive without being in any way overbearing. The restaurant always has a really lovely buzz about it. The food is both exceptional and exceptional value. And even if we haven’t been there for awhile, the warmth of welcome is always generous. I also like the fact that you get to the time to enjoy your meal without being hurried. Also, the layout of the restaurant is such that you have space to enjoy your food without being crowded by other diners. We’ve been going to Cote for years And have never once been disappointed."

"For me, there was a great selection of savory options, including not just sandwiches, but also wraps with various fillings that were a nice departure from the usual offerings. The cakes were absolutely delicious, and the portions were the largest I've ever seen, warm to the touch. Since it was Easter, there were some lovely extra touches for the children. My daughter had her face painted by a talented artist who was stationed nearby and created a beautiful flower design while engaging in friendly conversation with my 9-year-old. We also had a visit from the Easter Bunny, who handed out Easter eggs. Our waitress, whose name I unfortunately didn't catch, was very attentive and accommodating, ensuring that nothing was too much trouble. The staff at Quart Pot are always friendly, and every experience I’ve had there has been pleasant. Well done!"

"Very good Sunday roast. The two of us spent around £32 on a mixed roast (pork, beef) and a beef. Unfortunately for a milk/dairy allergy, not everything was good (puree, yorkshire pudding), although they don't necessarily require milk or butter, replaced with red cabbage. Unfortunately the place can only be reached by car, I would recommend a direct passage to Stoneleigh Abbey, so that you can also reach it on foot during a walk"

"The food was excellent, but the service left much to be desired. The staff were quite pushy about taking our order, which didn't allow us much time to peruse the menu. This may have been influenced by the current restrictions, but it felt a bit overwhelming. Additionally, they served all the food at once. While the quality of the food was impressive, the staff could have been more friendly and personable instead of coming across as robotic."
