"Some things are just meant to be. At Lord Clyde Southwark Bridge, the essentials are beer, pub food, and some sturdy benches. My colleague and I settled in and began discussing everything under the sun while watching a horse race on TV. The bartender kept an eye on the next potential customer entering the bar. We made our selections from the somewhat limited menu, which made it a quick decision. I ordered the jackfruit and ale pie on top of pie and mash, and it was a delight to both the eyes and the taste buds. Meanwhile, my colleague finished his pint before diving into his meal. I couldn’t help but admire the elegant historical decor—it’s rare to find places made with such character anymore."

Favorite pub in SE1! Nice and cozy in winter, but also a great place to sit outside in summer. A decent pint of Guinness too.

Great London pub serves excellent real ale. Both rooms were very busy at our visit, which gave a really good Christmas mood. A real classic.

Great little find just of Union Street on a hot Saturday. Have a good range of beers, good interior decore and nice outside area. The staff are also nice and friendly!

A fantastic traditional pub with great food and super friendly staff. Great little seating area out front as well for drinks on a sunny day. Highly recommend a visit if you haven’t already

One of London’s last remaining “proper boozers” A real gem, a good pint, good pie and mash. A real London pub. Landlord was very friendly with a great knowledge of the area. Will definitely be coming back

A no frills, hidden gem of a boozer. If you 've ever asked yourself where the London pubs that actually feel like London pubs are hiding, this is your answer. Friendly staff pour from a decent selection of taps in an atmosphere that feels both family-run and neighbourhood-centric. Great place to find Pieminister pies, to boot!

Recently ate at this beautiful pub. I was pleasantly surprised with the number of options on the menu, each different, appetising. It was nice to see a menu which caters for a range of dietary needs. Portion size was good value for money and drinks were served perfectly. It’s evident that staff and management care about customer satisfaction. We will definitely be back.

I was delighted to discover this little gem last week! This is what I call a truly traditional London pub. There’s a wide selection of drinks, and the food was impressive as well. I had a great conversation with the landlord, John, at the bar. It seems like many people have forgotten what it’s like to visit a pub and have a good chat—so put down your phones and come visit John and his team. I’ll definitely be back soon!
