"Have been there on a weekday with my wife. we where seated at the place of our choice and where asked what we wanted to drink. when i asked for a menu, the waitress had to bring the owner as she did not understood my german. i am german born and raised. i learned that they dont have a drink menu. i learned they have only "housewife" or some argentinian wine, which sounded like its bad wine. if so, why its in stock ? we where explained that the concept of selling bevergaes is that we have to tell them what "type" of wine we want, red or white and they serve a bottle of house wine. NO information about what wine it is. grabe, origin, year, description of taste and especially price. all we hear is trust me, i would not have it if it was bad. We know wines very very well and have never exoerienced any concept like that. the owner made clear they explain it only one time as we where new and wont explain it again - as their costumers are "smart". we decieded to leave and i was lectured that i have not translate deverything right to my wife and that was wrong of me and it will be a huge loss not for me but for my wife. all in all the owner was extrem hectic, hard to understand, rude to the bone and insultive. when we left we heard her saying "in my pizzeria i can do it my way" and we thought we where in a tapas bar.... i suggest anyone to take a 2 min walk to the rathenauplatz. there is the "meister-gerhard" at the corner meister-gerhard-strasse. great tapas, always fresh as always full. fantastic wines to super fair prices. or try "cafe feynsinn" right across. great cuisine and great wine as well for great prices. in fact all around the rathenauplatz you find fantastic places and cannot go wrong nowhere. please spare yourself the expirience at "manuela" unless you want to be stressed and ripped over....."

Excellent. The first visual impression is perhaps somewhat confusing, but pure self-protection. They'd go to the store. The food was super delicious and lush.

Yes it is a Tapas Restaurant pretty busy, loud and with tapas bar flair. Delicious tapas, sangria which is awesome and nice people. Do not judge the restaurant by the entrance Go in and have a Good Time :

This place does great range of unhealthy tapas and decent wine. Especially good is the back terrace- weather allowing in Cologne. Service fast-ish. Cash only. Cosy but not comfy. Free parking if you are lucky.

Authentic tapas bar. We have been coming to Manuela for years and are always enthusiastic. The quality of food and drinks is excellent The price/performance ratio is simple. The service is simple, but friendly. You should definitely reserve yourself and simply enjoy the southern mentality. View menu

We had dinner there last night. It was super delicious! The staff is totally nice and the little beer garden in the backyard is totally sweet. The tapas were super delicious. They're looking for their tapas at the counter, and they'll be taken to the table. Unfortunately, it is not possible to change this (also in the present time). We're coming back!

This is a great tapas restaurant where everything you an order is on display for you to pick and choose from, literally. You tell the waiter which ones you want, they spoon it out from a giant buffet style presentation, cook it if it needs to be, tell you to help yourself to a beer and then you can sit back and relax outside in the patio area. The prices are good and easy (4.50 Euros for any tapas plate), and the food is all delicious.

As we did not believe some of other bad reviews on Tripadvisor we just go purely based on the nice pictures of the tapas dishes we saw. We can gladly can say that this is one of the best Tapas restaurants we have seen out side Spain. Nice concept, you look at all the various dishes and tell the owner what you like to take. Nice taste nice concept nice owner Would be good to call them to reserve. Please note this is a Tapas place and can be noisy and busy, like in Spain... View menu

Was in town for business and sought a place to eat. I passed by this place, it is tucked into a corner of a building. Most tables were reserved but since I was alone, they found me a spot. There was a boatload of tapas to choose from, every one I had was excellent. The waiter suggested one dish to me, I was skeptical since it seemed like just some tomato sauce and salmon. Wow was I wrong, it was fantastic. It seems to be a family operation. Prices are fine. Interesting beverage distribution. They give you a bottle of wine and leave it at the table. One pays depending on how much the drink (e.g. glass, 1/4, 1/2, etc.).

I went with a couple of friends to Manuelas whilst in Cologne for dinner and few drinks. We had to wait atleast 40 mins before we could the attention of the guys at the Tapas Counter. The lady (dont know her name) but she was the only lady there was quite busy yet very accomodating. On the other hand, 2 guys who seemed new to this place were roaming around without attending to the guests. These guys were very rude and did not care at all. The guy serving the food was no less. The food served was not upto the mark and we could see the quality has deteriorated. Such a pity as this place used to be one of our favourite hanging spots in Cologne. I would now think twice before visiting them.

"In a 5-day stay in Cologne and as a lover of Indian cuisine, we had planned the Ginti. The visit took place on Monday to the beginning of noon. The reception was very friendly and cordial by the Lord of the House. The decor in Ginti is very modern, stylish, but also somewhat sterile and only very discreet supplements with Indian accessories. Young guests will probably find favors in the style of the institution. The place was still empty and so there was a chance to get a brief conversation with the mistress of the house. She brought us the menus, and there were Papadam with three from a culinary point of view pretty boring finished dives. We chose both a mango sauce as a drink that was thin and most likely prepared on the basis of a mango powder. Disgusting! I ordered as main dish Malai Kofta, vegetable balls in a mild curry sauce with ginger, garlic, almonds and coconut. This is not only one of my favorite Indian dishes, but it is also a dish that places higher requirements on a kitchen and therefore cannot be found in any Indian restaurant on the menu. In addition, quality and freshness can be well valued with this bowl. I ordered this dish with a higher sharpness, but not through the sauce, but ultimately through the vegetable balls themselves. The latter were produced excellently and their loose inner composition had the freshness of the preparation felt. This was undoubtedly a 5-star court. My accompaniment had opted for Tandoori King Prawn Masala, marinated royal cloves from Tandoor in a sauce with tomatoes, cashew nuts and raisins. This dish was also very tasty, rather mild and very generous in the number of shrimps. The rice was served unfavorably on an open bowl and had to measure any fragrance and aroma that could originate from cardamom capsules or spice cloves. After the main dishes were convinced, we were curious about the Indian ice cream, Kulfi. This came visually well over a carrot cut into slices, but could not be along tasteful. It was crystallized, little creamy and the aromas of the aforementioned mango powder were reappeared. Conclusion: a highly recommended Indian restaurant due to the excellent main dishes, but not yet matured in its culinary periphery. Therefore, provisionally three stars with an inclination to four."
