"I loved mission burrito when It first came to Oxford and hadn’t been for ages, I vowed to never go to one of the new ones that had popped up, this weekend I was craving a burrito and when I visited I was really disappointed. The carnitas was just a grey sludge which looked the same as the chicken, no beef was available and it had none of the amazing flavour it used to. There was no veg on offer, the salad was limp and the beans forgotten in my partners. They also seem to not bother with the pickled red onions anymore and have removed the chohula hot sauce from the tables which left my once delicious burrito bland. Even things like removing the reusable red baskets meant it was messy and difficult to eat, the table tops were sticky and just run down. Please bring it back to what it was!"

The chicken burrito with medium spicy sauce was bland and the rice lacked flavor. It was edible, but not very tasty. The service was very friendly.

It was the first time for me and I was amazed. I got the rice box and for the price I paid, the portion was huge! The staff was really friendly I have to say. Well done!

This is my favourite spot for lunch in Oxford! Its quick, tasty and affordable (student discount! . In summer I love to eat a veggie ricebox under a tree in Christchurch meadow!

We go here regularly. The staff are so friendly and always make us smile. The burritos are delicious, very filling, and such great value. Great for lunch or dinner. Highly recommend

I would definitely return to this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. The location is nice, with outdoor seating on a charming street with pedestrians, not too congested with cars.

Worrying temperatures on the ‘Hot held’ meats on the counter. Certainly not in the correct hot holding range of 63 degrees and above. Also meats and beans not refreshed regularly as a crust had appeared on them. Proceed with caution!

This restaurant in Oxford surpasses all other taco places in the area. The staff is exceptionally friendly, making me feel like a truly valued customer. Although I was only there for the summer, I will definitely be returning next year for the entire season.

I ate here back in 2019 and remembered it fondly so when I was back in town earlier this month I made a point of seeking it out. I regret that, I don't know for sure what has changed but I felt that the food was of a poorer quality, The food sat like glue in my stomach for hours.

"I've been going to Oxford for 3 years now and in that time to be frank struggled to find a decent go to restaurant. I can now say with delight i've found my destination. I present SPICED ROOTS a little caribbean culinary gem. The fresh perfectly cooked food is absolutely delicious and gives off that home cooked by mummy vibe and is beautifully presented. The chilli and garlic prawns had my eyes closed Mark Weins style (if you know you know) so juicy with an incredible depth of flavour, the Trini doubles not only were seasoned to perfection they left you wanting more and the Jerk chicken spring rolls were an absolute triumph. For mains we had the ackee and callaloo Jerk Tempah (vegetarian) and the Jerk chicken. Both came with rice peas, plaintain and salad. Not only were the portions huge the flavours of both dishes were just mind blowingly delicious. Then we embarked on dessert and had the beautiful spiced rum cake and a selection of 3 home made ice creams namely Coconut, Guinness and the old Caribbean favourite Rum and Raisin, all recommended by the owner. It's at this point I feel compelled to speak about the rum raisin ice cream. I've eaten this ice cream on numerous occasions at numerous locations in Jamaica over my many years and I tell you no word of a lie this was hands down the best rum and raisin ice cream I've ever tasted, it literally left us speechless. So to summarise, this place has great food, great music, great service and a wonderfully charming owner who's totally invested in serving great, incredibly tasty, authentic Caribbean food clearly prepared with love. What more could you ask for. Fair to say it was meant to be. Uncle Jay."
