"We arrived at a quiet spell and were the only people in the shop. We must have stood at the till 2/3 minutes before anyone spoke to us. The three members of staff were just chatting to each other (nothing to do with their job) at the other side of the counter. They could clearly see us! We didn’t wait too long for the food to arrive. There is some seating outside. The food we had was good. There is a large pay and display car park next to it. Overall would recommend for the food but not the staff."

Gosh very good firm flesh, tasty batter and not greasy. Fast service to takeaway. A late but pricey though and not enough chips.

Soggy fries, inedible we threw them uneaten in the trash bin) mushy peas and subpar fish. Emotionless service from the two girls at the till. Avoid this place unless nothing else is open.

I wouldn't recommend this, the food was not great to be honest, not even sure the chips are made from fresh potatoes, felt like they were cooked from frozen. Staff were not wearing hair nets or protective gear of any kind. Queue was huge and had to wait a good while. View menu

Avoid this place ,a man behind the counter is bone idle .He blatently said outloud .The more people stare at me the longer they will wait . There was a queue of about 10 to 15 people waiting ,he must have been stared at a few times .20 mins for a bag of chips .rude unhelpfull moron ,then the chips were vile .

Can't really comment on the food quality. I stood for 10 minutes being ignored with two other customers who were already being cooked for. Both these customers collected their food and I was still ignored. When a new customer entered and was asked what they wanted, I decided that I wasn't wanted and left. I will not return.

Amazing fish chips, probably the best I have had in Scotland. We were here in 2018 we came back here in 2023 were happy that the shop is still there. The fish was so fresh, firm, flaky juicy. Its batter is crispy crunchy. The scampi was very savoury juicy. We chatted with Dale who was very friendly. So glad to have a bit of detour to come here again. View menu

Just another cog-in-the-wheel of the enormous tourist-machine, that Scotland has become, in the last 20 years. In this case, the erroneous fairy tale of ghe Loch Ness Monster. ....OK, putting that asside, the chips are NOT cut on-site and you will not get a 'please ' or 'thankyou ', from the emotionless girl on the till, just; here 's your change, just wait over there . The cod chips itself was fine, edible and at £9.50, I suppose, the price is about average these days.

Just happened upon this place after an extensive search for Nessie and we were hungry. You just walk in and there is a menu board up on the wall. Place your order and wait for them to get it ready. My husband had the fish and chips and the piece of fish was huge! It was so big it was sticking out of the box. Fries were good. I had the battered chicken fillet and paid an extra 80 pence for a buttered bun to make it a sandwich. I got a side of onion rings too. Both were good.

"Truly the worst meal I’ve ever experienced in my life. Phoned to book a table and was told we could only have 6:30, but when we arrived there was nobody else there. Ordered a bottle of red wine and we’re given a “British” red wine made from imported South African grape juice. We couldn’t open the screw top bottle at first but when we got into it we found it was like the worst grape juice you’ve ever tried. It was as if the barman/waiter had never heard anyone ask for wine before and grabbed a fake bottle off the shelf that was made for display. The glasses were dirty. I ordered the macaroni as thought anything else might be risky given the cleanliness of the place, I wish I’d just walked out at that point. What I was served was a tin of Heinz macaroni and some raw potatoes masquerading as chips. My partner tried the macaroni and straight away agreed it was tinned it’s such a distinctive taste that we both remember from childhood. He got the scampi and was served some generic, back of the feeezer scampi which he said was edible, but again with raw chips and a wilting salad. Unfortunately the radiator behind me belting out 30 degree heat in the height of summer, the congealed sugar bowl from breakfast and the stray dog running around the dining room didn’t do much to improve the atmosphere. The most shocking part was that I paid £37 for this experience just to get out of there as quickly as possible. I can’t say enough how disappointed we were with this place after reading such positive reviews and looking at the menu online. The real life experience is the complete opposite. Just don’t go, trust me!"
