"They have German and English menus, which is great for us!My husband ordered some dish with king prawns, they were really good with a lot of sauce. Goat cheese from tapas menu became my love, I will definitely come back for it again. However, champignons from tapas also which were claimed roasted, were not really roasted, but more like boiled and heated with an oil, nevertheless the rumpsteak was great, and shrimps in a garlic oil also very good! I am not the fan of big portions, that is why two tapas was a great choice for me, but the whole dish is pretty big, like for example a steak with a garnish is quite a good portion for a man.Prices are average, not the ones if those fancy restaurants, we payed something like 65-70 euro for 4 people. They also have some daily menu with interesting things like pumpkin soup, and different fish, which I am looking forward to try ;)I recommend this place and will come back there myself!"

Good food at at reasonable price. Great cheap vine and large tapas plates! Theee is more than enough for one person. A bit noisy when a lot of people in the restaurant.

We made a reservation via the website. We recieved a confirmation by e-mail. When we arrived, we didn't get a table. The restaurant was fully booked. It was a Saturday night, it was raining. Needless to say we were very disappointed.

This small tapas like restaurant is a real beauty in the city centre of hamburg. It is crowded so make sure to do a reservation if you want to be sure to get a table. Food is very good and selection is excellent. Value for money is excellent. View menu

Right in the middle of Hamburg next to the Rathausmarkt. Small but good styled , very kind service, good variation of food. Good daily menu for about 10 euro. Good wines. Reservations are preferred but one should find a place spontaneously also.

I ate the three-course lunch special (€10.50) offered Mon-Fri. The food was lovely - sensible sized portions and a choice of 3 main courses along with a starter and dessert. The service was very nice, friendly, helpful and efficient. Add on a bottle of water, two hot beverages and a tip, all for €20. Fantastic! View menu

The location of the restaurant is right in the center of Hamburg, but not on one of themain streets. It seems a bit hidden. Maybe that's why my daughter an I were the only diners in the restaurant, which always is a bit awkward and also a shame. The place is nice and cosy, the service is attentive and very friendly and last but not least, the food was tasteful and well prepared of fresh quality ingredients. I will most certainly be back.

I visited O Cafe Central the first time three years ago, since then every time I go to Hamburg will try to have dinner there. It is close to the Rathaus and has a cozy nice feeling from the decorations. I really like that they always have some new "recommendations" according to the seasons. They are mostly very creative and super tasty. The food from their normal menu are also nice. Waitresses are very friendly and helpful. Compared to those restaurants along the Baumwall, this Portuguese restaurant is way worth visiting!

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
