"light experience in a beautiful room with attentive staff. the salmon starter for lunch was good, but the black pudding was excellent: balanced, rich aromas and textures, all very cleverly presented. the sweet with the netzen was especially well thought out and executed the venison and ochse wange superb, delicate with a real taste depth. the main cable burr was bright and the warm vegetarian option the red with green and a goat cheese mousse with roasted mandel was a special joy. very good chocolate cake with stuffed pears, ice on a crumb. this was a great combination of aromas and textures, although my preference for more of a gans than a mousse consistency would have been. there is so much love for detail in every element of the meal, until the type of baked chosen for the fall of the chocolate cake. excellent for a special occasion. when they are on a budget, they go to lunch instead of dinner, as it is (very right) expensive."

Food excellent and beautifully presented in comfortable and tasteful surroundings. The style of service was excellent but they did not return to top up our wine glasses. There was no green tea in stock.We will be back

Ockenden Manor has kept up a very standard as a restaurant as well as hotel in truly country manor style. Excellent menu spoiled for choice incl. wines. Wonderful setting viewed from every table. Wine and dine and stay. You will love it

Beautiful location! We had our champagne on the terrace in beautiful surroundings. Freshly baked bread was superb. Then I had the turbot which was amazing. My dessert , which was the oat creme brûlée was not as good as I had hoped for. None the less, the whole evening was very enjoyable

the staff was very friendly and atmospheric. each curs had three decisions, unfortunately all were not suitable when they are lactose intolerant. our side order of courgettes was more like a ratatouille. two courses, a bottle of water and three glasses champagne 200 £. not the cheapest places, but would still be back.

Lovely dinner with my husband for his birthday. Great menu, expertly prepared and presented, served with a relaxed formality appropriate for the setting. All mains could be adapted for gluten intolerance and no fuss.Also had the pleasure of afternoon tea here a few weeks back which was also excellent. Will come back again
