"Visited today for a lunch, took a while to get served which was a little disappointing considering the amount of staff about and lack of customers. There was clearly someone there that staff knew as they just all seemed to stand chatting, not much work being done. When we finally ordered there seemed to be an issue at the till, I stood waiting to pay and by the time I’d paid my food had already arrived. Food was good can’t complain about that, just be aware you need to have plenty of time when you visit, took almost 25 mins to be served and pay dread to think how long it would take on a busy day."

Today I visited pennells for breakfast and the food was lovely and so was the staff it was busy when I got there but the staff seemed to deal with customers really well I am really happy with it and will definitely be coming back!.

Visited Pennells this week for lunch, food very good, staff helpful. The restaurant is spacious and ventilation good. Customers wearing masks. Unfortunately when at the counter getting food there was no social distancing in fact it was quite crowded and uncomfortable.

Brilliant afternoon tea, with generous portions. Myself and my nana are vegetarian and some places have often forgotten and given us sausage rolls and pork pies.. HOWEVER, this place got it spot on with quiche and a lovely array of sandwiches. Will definitely come again!!

Regular visitors decided to have breakfast. Scrambled eggs on toast with 2 slices of bacon. Eggs were awful cold and dried up. Bacon tasty but also cold. Needs to be made fresh! More expensive than Doddington Hall nowhere near the standard. Cleared away before I could get a pic.

Visited 6/3/22 Had a Full English and a sausage baguette . Asked for crispy bacon to be told we’ve got what we’ve got . The bacon was pink and full of fat . The sausage baguette was cold , Don’t think they can be doing their food holding temperature checks. Hard egg cold beans cold toast Never again

Food was good can’t complain about that, just be aware you need to have plenty of time when you visit, took almost 25 mins to be served and pay dread to think how long it would take on a busy day.
