"We were staying in the neighborhood, so we ended up here two evenings in a row. The first night we unknowingly ordered a very expensive appetizer plate of bruschetta (15 euros). We should have asked the cost. The bruschetta were fine, but not for that cost. I ordered carbonara. The large tube shaped pasta were covered in what appeared to be raw egg and a little bit of bacon. I ate the pasta a bit squeamishly. It would not have been what I would have anticipated for well prepared carbonara. Our daughter had lasagna which seemed fine, though the portion size seemed a bit small. My husband had a pizza which was very good. He'd ordered one pizza and received another that wasn't even on the menu, but it was a good mistake. The pizza was topped with prosciutto, artichoke hearts and mushrooms, cheese and tomato sauce. I don't think that he would have wanted the pizza with egg on top that he actually ordered! We ordered house red wine for $8. It was fine. Our server was delightful and gracious. The bill with water and bread came to 57 Euros. We had not expected such a high total for what we ordered. We did have two bottles of the house wine. Live and learn. The second night we ordered two pizzas and house white wine. The bill came to 24 Euros. Sigh of relief! The pizzas were both very good. One was our newly created special from last night and the other was Pizza Diavolo pizza with tomato sauce, cheese and spicy salami. Overall this restaurant deserves 3.5 to just shy of 4 stars. I can't speak for what the other pasta dishes taste like, but in terms of value and consistency, the pizza is a good bet. The owner is also very friendly and gracious. We only wish that the price of the appetizer had been disclosed to us in our first night. We honestly foolishly assumed that the simple bruschetta came with the meal. The restaurant is located in a fun, casual neighborhood with a very good gelato place close by, so it might be a good choice for a relaxing evening out away from the hustle and bustle of the more touristy areas of Rome. The Metro is just across the street."

From outside it doesn't look like much but once you've entered you will be greeted with a smile and a nice word. It is a nice local pizzeria where people usually know each other. The pizza is great and the house wine is even better. Buon appetito!

Jet lagged and new to Rome on a rainy evening, we wanted a light nice dinner. The hotel suggested and we went. Dinner was perfect. Pasta was made fresh at the restaurant and the fish was lovely. Our salad and octopus dishes were fresh and as hoped for. It was a great start to our trip!

Next door to vladimiro, how can you get 2 superb restaurants next to each other? Delightful cavern like interior and friendly attentive staff. Tortellini stuffed with veal to start, 1 portion between 2 was plenty. Fillet steak cooked to perfection for me and veal saltimbocca for my wife was superb. Wine on the expensive side but nevertheless a superb selection. Diet starts next week.

Walking to find a restaurant, we see different people with pizza boxes coming from this place. If so many Italians go there to buy their pizzas, they must be good. Typical Italian restaurant, very nice touch because it is family run, with wood oven. No written menu, and I appreciate that the waitress is able to speak slowly so we can understand. It makes the experience even more pleasant. My husband orders pasta, fettuccine ai porcini, which has too much salt for his taste, and I order a pizza, which I like a lot: cooked ham, fresh tomatoes and fresh aragula over a thin crust. We ask for grilled eggplants and zucchini, which are good too. Great service. Will go back and recommend.

We ate at this place after a visit to the basillica San Paolo. Loved it. Enzo the owner was amazing. Made us feel so welcome. The food was amazing. The recommend dish of the day Pasta Amaretica was very ordinary looking but the taste was just superb. I had steak and again looked very underwhelming when brought out, but the steak was unbelievable to taste. Kids had pizza both declared it was the best pizza ever tasted. The star of the night though after all that delicious food was the homemade tiramisu.. stunning is the only way to describe. This is a family run friendly restaurant just directly outside the basillica San paolo metro station. The setting is not the most beautiful but, the food...
