"Unlike most in the comments, my wife and I came to spend a night in Casa Pepa as it has accommodation. We'd spent the day at the lakes north of Ardales and fancied chilling out at Casa Pepa in the evening before heading to Ronda the following day The landscape in these parts is absolutely spectacular. We had reserved in advance and when we arrived we were asked if we'd like to eat and of course we said yes. After freshening up we came down to eat at 9:00. We were the only ones eating and I thought it would fill up but I think we got evening treatment because we were guests for the night. I think the main business is lunchtime. Nevertheless, the evening format follows the lunchtime one a fixed menu and what a treat that is. First comes a large soup terrine with a simple broth with chickpeas and fideos (snapped up bits of thin spaghetti). Simple but yummy and we polished off several bowls before finishing the lot. The next arrival was a whopping big salad and that was polished off too. The main meal was thin, stewed, pork fillets, lots of them. in a crushed almond kind of sauce and thoroughly tasty. This was accompanied by the tastiest chips I can ever remember. We were wolfing it down and asked if we wanted an egg on top and so arrived a fried egg for extra excitement. We were graciously asked if we would like more and I couldn't resist but the topping up also included a plate of chorizos on the side. Bread was served throughout and drinks were a a bottle of cheap wine to make tinto de verrano and some water. I was gasping for air by the end but managed to finish with a gigantic piece of melon. Cost for the lot was £10 euros a head and a whole lot of fun. We had to take a walk through Carratraca afterwards and my belt buckle had to be let out considerably to make it possible. If you're looking for fine dining you better go somewhere else. This is great value home cooking and I mean that in the best possible way. Considering the price you have absolutely nothing to lose and I even enjoy the random see what's available on the day approach. It's very Andalusian though so I think vegetarians or vegans shouldn't take the risk. I can't finish on a negative so a big thumbs up to the family who treated us so well too. It's a family home and my impression was that it's in safe hands."
