"Lovely village dog friendly pub. Popped by this pub on several occasions but never had the time to pop in. Finally had time so managed to park in the car park as the pub was busy. Food was really good. Staff were very accommodating. As I am a fussy eater. We had a friends dog with us for the day who the staff adored. Even had a spare dog biscuit for her. We will pop in again when passing as I will make time. Definitely recommend a stop here."

can not judge eating (although the menu looked good,) but we called for lunch drinks in the middle of a walk, and found the personal really friendly and the beer very good. the girls also loved the trampoline.

Lovely friendly pub restaurant, very clean and decorated very nice with keeping the character of the very old building. Really enjoyed it, weekends you would be better booking if eating as its that busy... You must try

Thank you, Wendy and the team, for taking care of me, Jen, and the family yesterday for my birthday. We all enjoyed a delightful Sunday roast (as usual), although I suspect I may have indulged in one too many Ludlow Golds this time! View menu

we got the chance we could eat today. no tables available, so we had a drink while we drank the man behind the bar, he said he would squeeze us in. we had pate and the salmon and cancer salad, then the fasan and pig belly. everything was delicious! very happy with food and service. Thank you!

Welcoming, friendly, and warm! The menu is fantastic, and I can't wait to try more dishes! The beer is excellent as well; Ludlow Gold is exceptional. It's conveniently located at the beginning and end of my favorite running route. Whether I'm enjoying a pint in the sunny garden or cozying up by the fire, it's always a pleasure to stop by.

"On arrival, the pub looked cute and cosy open early for breakfast, decent reviews it seems a place to get out of the snow! After sitting down for a few minutes we ordered breakfast coffee, all seemed fine until we heard ‘local regulars’ having a xenophobic, conversation with the waitress about refugees. This conversation took place as the waitress was behind the bar and the couple sat across from her at their table, and with no music playing no atmosphere at all actually) and no one else in the pub it was hard to hear anything else! Myself my partner felt very awkward, angry and extremely uncomfortable it was just loud enough to hear and as the only other people in there we couldn’t decide if this was the norm in this place, or if this was just a few ‘bad apples’ but they obviously didn’t seem to care that we could openly hear their conversation discussing refugees as if they were item? which makes me think it’s the norm here) Extremely harmful, especially given the tragic history of this place a lynching had taken place only 3 years ago) the continuous shocking racism that comes from their local MP Philip Dune. And this isn’t a personal ‘woke’ agenda as the business owner tried to suggest when we complained, ‘leave my agenda at the door’ we were told in the only google review the venue have seemed to respond too, quite worrying they are not trying to reassure us we had misheard but instead were very defensive and took no accountability) this is just the truth of this town information you could easily find on google when reviewing where to visit, which made this whole experience even more uncomfortable. Even if they were having a completely innocent conversation, why do they feel the need to do this over the bar to the customers and not have their own personal conversation at the table which we did not have to overhear? Are the staff too lazy to walk around to the table? It most certainly was not busy so there was no excuse for this whole situation to take place. It was our first time in this town and the whole thing was just really uncomfortable. You’d think the town a local business especially, would be doing all they can to separate themselves from such things. It’s a shame the energy and atmosphere doesn’t match the beautiful surroundings. I’d recommend avoiding, awkward xenophobic conversation aside the Veggie breakfast was very bland and basic, sausages had no flavour other than the sauce I put on them and my partners poached eggs were undercooked soggy"
