"I used to stop by this pub for a drink occasionally, but since being furloughed and then made redundant, this place has become a sanctuary for me after long walks in the nearby countryside and along the canal towpath. I can confidently say that it is Covid-safe, with limited capacity and a one-way system in place. The beer selection, particularly the Tring Brewery ales, is excellent, and the wine options are also quite good. If you're looking for a place to relax while out and about, I highly recommend giving the Red Lion a try. There is seating available out front, either in the open air or under a marquee, and the garden area is quite lovely."

I called in a week too early as the kitchen is currently closed! So I had to make do with the beer which was excellent. A friendly warm and inviting pub this will be fantastic when they can serve food again!

This was our first time at this restaurant and we were very impressed. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious, with generous portions and a great taste. We will definitely be coming back again in the future.

Would definitely recommend. Have been here twice within a week and both times the food was really good with large portions. Friendly and helpful Lady behind the bar who arranged for our food to be served at a specific time as one of our party was in their lunch hour

I cycled along the canal tow path to meet a friend in The Red Lion. We had a lovely sunny table just beside the road, that meant we could chat and watch the world go by. Nice Peroni and Aspalls Cyder available. Covid safe environment and friendly staff. Really enjoyed this.

Called in as other pubs in the village were shut. What a find. Very friendly staff, great beer with choice of 3 or 4 ales, simple menu cooked really well. Ham and sausages were excellent quality. Very close to the canal, great for boaters and walkers. Would definitely recommend.

I booked a table for lunch as it was my Mum's 80th birthday. Had I known we were not to have a table inside, I would have brought along a jumper. Needless to say, my Mum was chilly. We waited almost an hour to be served basic mediocre cheeseburgers, certainly not what we expected for any price. Fatty, bland and nothing special at all. I am very disappointed as I have not seen my Mum since lockdown and I wish I'd taken her somewhere else.

I visited this restaurant today and I truly regret it. It took 20 minutes for our first drinks order to arrive, so we went ahead and ordered food. Even after making a second order, the first order still didn't show up. We asked multiple times but received no apology, only excuses about their disorganized ordering system. After waiting for over half an hour, we finally gave up. This was a terrible experience, and it seems like it wasn't just our table that had issues. I would recommend avoiding this place unless you enjoy waiting.

This is a quintessential English country pub. Take a walk along the canal and walk over the bridge to be greeted by the sight of this solid and welcoming brick building. There’s a gazebo outside and several small rooms inside where we had some excellent food and real ale which we ordered through WhatsApp. It’s a bit of a clunky system because you have to get a menu somehow first and they seemed a little overwhelmed on a Friday lunchtime but they were trying their best and we didn’t have to wait too long. All Covid measures are in place and its well worth finding this place and booking a table once we are out of lockdown
