Whilst we have eaten at this restaurant on a number of occasions, this year we decided to try out their takeaway service. The standard was well up to the restaurant’s high quality and appetisingly prepared in disposable recyclable containers so we would happily recommend this option if you want a lovely dinner in your rented villa.

If your looking for a break from driving between Bordeaux and Northern Spain then check out la Villa du Marche. It's ten minutes from the motorway (check opening times) and is situated in a pleasant pretty village. The menu is interesting and has a contemporary twist which also applies to the restaurant it's self. I can recommend the Duck. It's a million times better than motorway restaurant food. In the center of Salles finding this contemporary restaurant with trendy food is surprise. The only disadvantage being the portions. A surprise again they're too big. As to the quality of the food itself, well presented and prepared with care. The Foie Gras was delicious, the Calamari's were good and the Mozzarella Salad was fresh and delicious, but again too big as a starter. The Burgers were juicy and meaty, the fries delicious and the entrecôte was nicely done. The servants were friendly and wanted to please. A lively ambiance. All in all a really nice evening out. Recommendable for sure.

we were searching at 14.30 for somewhere attractive and not overly expensive to eat. We found it. It looked right and it is. Very welcoming and great tapas menu which together with a perfect shared salad was exactly what we would have hoped for anywhere in the world . Very clean and efficient lovely ambiance. Would have scored 5 stars but glasses of wine we thought expensive. Maybe it's us as we had travelled through France and Spain and were unaccustomed to 6 euros for each of three glasses of unspecified white wine bit was nice but 18 euros of our total 48 seemed a bit on the high side. Despite that we love this place

What to say!  Were at the restaurant for dinner The : Very decent dish but nothing more Environment good Nice atmosphere with jazz and music not too loud... above the food Correct price THE : Foie gras: uh I prefer not to say anything. Duck leg: soft, non crispy skin: would this be reheated? Floating island: the soft waffle still inedible, the cream barely fresh. Attitude of contacts: I quote: “there you go” and not: bon appetit. No smile and that goes for everyone... Glass of wine not served before the main course: you have to ask.. everything is like that, I'm pushing you. In summary: SMILE GOOD AND BE FRIENDLY... or LIKELY, it fixes the imperfections. Brief! View menu
