"When virtually all local restaurants were booked solid, we called five... this one took us in at short notice. It worked out it was the best choice. Classy and friendly service, rich and tasty menu with local specialties, wild meats and all, superb wine list,...with champagnes and fancy cocktails and long drinks... This place is a must eat at if you are in Feldberg area. Don 't be lured into old-fashion restaurants with wooden tables and benches... the owners of this one decided wisely to invest in renovations to create a classy dinner escape for those who demand it. And yes, prices are normal. Not cheap, but you will notice that for the normal price you get superb value. From all the local restaurants we tried over a week 's time, this one stands a full head above the crowd!"

"My favourite for many years now: unsurpassed Wiener Schnitzelmade from proper veal, with fantastic Bratkartoffel and a fresh salad. Excellent salad with fresh Pfifferlinge, too! Good, well selected wines from the region - and all that in a lovely traditional Schwarzwaldhaus or outside in the beautiful small Biergarten surrounded by flowers. It comes with very friendly service, too. That's why we come back over and over again. Thank you!"

"1) Nice hotel, with sometimes very mixed food: a) The breakfast buffet is very extensive and excellent. b) Lunch in the “Gugelhupf” café fluctuates between ok and inedible. For example, a tomato soup or the sauce from Spaghetti Napoli tastes like curry ketchup. I have no idea which chef does something like that, but outside of a currywurst stand it 's a no-go. c) Dinner in the Panorama restaurant is good, but unfortunately only a menu and no buffet. Dinner in the “Am Kachelofen” restaurant is a buffet, but with a rather mediocre selection. There are almost no dishes for children, even though it is actually a family-friendly hotel. 2) Target group of the hotel: That is perhaps a bit at the heart of the problem. The hotel fluctuates between a family hotel, a business hotel and a wellness hotel. It doesn 't exactly hit the mark for any of these target groups. a) As a family hotel, there is a sports hall with a bouncy castle and some children 's toys. Unfortunately, the family rooms are exactly at the other end of the hotel, so you can easily travel 20 minutes with children. Unfortunately, there is hardly anything in between that is barrier-free for strollers or wheelchair users. For whatever reason, there are only 1-2 hours of children 's toys in the swimming pool every day. b) The sauna area is good for wellness guests, but can hardly be used with small children. The rest of the swimming pool area is nice, but a bit small. c) As a business hotel, the many children in the dining room and in the swimming pool are probably annoying. And as a rule, you won 't go to the sauna together in a professional context. 3) Other points: a) It 's great that there is childcare including lunch. b) The staff is friendly, but sometimes not that helpful. There is sometimes a lack of knowledge about how child care works or what is in the food. c) Even simple activities such as billiards cost extra. In a hotel in this price range I would have expected that this would simply be included. d) The prices for cocktails are quite fair, even if you sometimes have to wait a little longer due to the crowds."

"The old Black Forest House is located in the district of Fischbach and is a secret tip. Here you can relax in the middle of an idyllic valley, here the fish stream flows down to the canyon lake and gentle meadow slopes. I'm checking the hotel restaurant and I can't say anything to the rooms. In the short term we decided to eat here. Rings around the canyon lake were overcrowded by the possibilities of return, and we hoped to find a place outside. Since we were not reserved before, we have a little two table with chance and luck. The big restaurant was completely reserved. Fortunately, we were there at 5 a.m. so we could eat almost alone and quietly. Most guests came at 6:00, then it became pretty narrow. Cordon Bleu and veal carvings with fresh vegetables, salad and pommes tasted very well. A tannial dish for Mr. B. and a non-alcoholic dish for me. Otherwise, meat and fish dishes are on the map. You have to spend 20 euros for a meal, but it was worth it. You can also sit in a beautiful ambience with subtle background music. When looking out the window you could see some cows that were well balanced on a mountain slope. If you don't have the AHA all the time in your head, it could be so beautiful here. So you could not enjoy the stay very much as it became quite full. But no one can, and I give 4 stars and recommend it."

"Удивительное место во всех смыслах. Кафе расположено прямо на станции, куда приходят не только поезда регулярных линий, но и туристический поезд, идущий в сторону озера Титизей. Меню с небольшим выбором блюд, однако, каждое из них заслуживает внимания и отдельного описания. Нет меню на английском, что усложняет ситуацию для невладеющих немецким посетителей. Рекомендую яблочную пиццу на слоеном тесте. Стоит заметить, что этот семейный ресторан расположен на пересечении трасс для велосипедистов и любителей скандинавской ходьбы с палками, которые с огромным удовольствием делают здесь остановку ради стаканчика смородинового морса или кружки безалкогольного пива Ротхаус."
