"Not much imagination went into naming 34, its address is 34 Grosvenor Square; such lack of creative facility does not bode well. And the address, well, that too sends a message, for as one London guide says: From its earliest days Grosvenor Square attracted residents of high social status, over half of whom, until well into the 20th century, were people of title. The square has never deteriorated socially. Are commoners even allowed? Finally, as part of Caprice Holdings Ltd, a group that includes Scott's less than five minutes walk away where hedge fund managers being seen and being rich seemed to us on our visit there more important than the food served, are we simply in the wrong place to get a good meal? Fortunately, the answer is no and the best part about 34 is indeed the food. We're pleased to say that 34 is much closer to the wonderful Le Caprice rather than Scott's, leaving us happy customers indeed. "We booked this restaurant for our 40th wedding anniversary. The welcome was fine once we had pointed out we were booked into the restaurant and not attending the private event upstairs as the doorman assumed. The table was nice if somewhat cramped, and taking of drinks and food orders was prompt, albeit a bit persistent, as we wanted time to relax and enjoy the occasion. The pre dinner cocktails were excellent and the starters were delicious. We did however encounter issues with our mains, with my wife being given cabbage rather than the crispy potatoes she ordered (they did replace them but only after we pointed the mistake out) and the peas and carrots side being provided without spoons to serve them with (again corrected only once we pointed the lack out). My halibut tranche had lots of small bones as well as the main one I had been expecting and wasn’t that enjoyable to eat as a result. My wife’s lamp chop was nicely cooked but not exceptional. In fairness, the restaurant took all of the sides, including my fries which were excellent, off the bill without promoting and they gave us a wonderful sorbet and chocolate plate for the occasion, so overall a nice enough evening but not to the high standard I expected, given my previous experience there."

"We were the only ones in the patio and yet it took 30' to get our food (5 of us). When we asked for clarifications on the menu such as ingredients of the accompanying sauce for the salad or which ones were the seasonal vegetables, she couldn't answer. While we appreciated to be left alone, we were literally left alone. While they had an internal lunch going on at the opposite side and they were all focused on it. Food was great though and I appreciated they had gluten free bread for me."

"We had a wonderful evening at this restaurant. The food was fantastic, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was beautiful. We chose to dine here because it was close to our hotel, and we are so happy we did. The cocktails were great, and our starters of crab ravioli and chicory and gorgonzola salad were delicious. Our main courses of chicken breast and spatchcock poussin were outstanding. We also enjoyed a lovely bottle of Chablis with our meal. We highly recommend this restaurant and plan on returning before we leave London."

"We are partial to an afternoon tea and have attended many. This was a very good one and we did enjoy it very much. We had a lovely table at the back of the restaurant and our waitress was lovely. The ambience and the decor in the restaurant was excellent and the location for our theatre visit was perfect. On the whole the experience was excellent and we would return. The scones were probably the best we 've had for a long time. We all agreed they were delicious. So light inside with a fine crust on the outside. Bit disappointing we had to share the jam and cream just give everyone their own to avoid the have you had enough? or pass the cream scenarios. The sandwiches were delicious too, but we felt for the money a bit mean. Just one round each, ie four finger sandwiches. Many afternoon teas in this price range would have topped up the savoury, but this didn 't happen here. No small quiches or pastries, just four finger sandwiches. The sweet cakes and pastries were clearly made on the premises and we all thought, apart from the chocolate and passion fruit that they were delicious and expertly made. None of us enjoyed the chocolate and passion fruit tart. Also, we had to ask for our tea to be topped up. The cocktails were a nice added touch, but they were very small and again, none of us like the combo of the chocolate and passionfruit cocktail. All in all though, lovely surroundings, good service and mainly delicious food with the best scones in town!"

"usually difficult to get a table short time, but we had practically the whole restaurant to ourselves around 19 clock on Thursday. this was due to the fact that the local hotel occupancy rates were strongly depressed and the people of home working due to covid 19. this empty, there was atmosphere missing but service excellent. good choice of all courses and I especially enjoyed the Oktopus starter. grilled cod main course cooked to perfection with large damp flocks of fish. criminality brûlée with rhabarb and coffee finish. a good choice of crying, but the brandup is exaggerated."

"So So disapointed. Only booked a few weeks ago and chose this on the basis of what cocktails were available for a bottomless brunch. Got there and they had changed the choices..to ones we did not like. The said it would have been on an email but the email I received the day before had none of this info. If it had, we would have cancelled as can have prosecco brunch locally!. Finally the manager agreed for us to have another choice but that was after were were going to walk. Service was always polite but so so slow. Had to call someone over more times than not and it wasnt even busy.The food was lovely I have to say but the other MASSIVE complaint was there was no live DJ as advertised, No vibe just piped music..why was it advertised as a kitchen disco brunch. Very very disappointed and DO NOT recommend."

"The team was very attentive which added to the birthday celebratory atmosphere. "The waitress brought he wrong order. We told her twice but she was confused. Seized the plates on our table and left. We ordered a Breakfast that included juice. Never came. Coffee was included in the meal we ordered but she charged us for coffee and then said the machine was broken and did not refund us. A 50 pound breakfast Renee up costing 95 pounds. So I paid 132 dollars for a breakfast I did not order. Also we got charged for for cafes cause the waitress took my husband drink when it was still half full. This is a nice place to eat but I would never return. I should have just told the manager but I didn’t want to be a Karen. But ordering breakfast is not that complicated."

"eating was great and good value. service was not good. we have a menu at 1046. we waited for the server and had to call him at last. order and then he brought another menu that said it was after 11 o'clock and we had to use the other menu that had more expensive prices. we explained that we had waited for him to come so that we could order, and we expect him to be bigger in the price design of the menu we had. he wouldn't do it, always said it was because it was after 11 o'clock. at this time it was 1110 or so. it was just a pain in the back and so not necessary. That was for three drinks we asked. maybe $8. only no good service. she had to keep calling for more water and so on."

"The Waitresses and staff don’t shower. They come into work unshowered. I don’t like my food handled by unshowered staff members. How do I know? You know a person is umshowered when you look at them. They look stale. They touch their faces. Scratch their faces. Rub all the matter from their eyes. Never wash their hands and serve hot drinks, juices and food. "Took going to the front desk twice to get the tv fixed in the room. Initially they sent in housekeeping to try to fix it, then a gentleman around the front desk came in and reset the channels. Waited roughly 4-5 hours. Beds are a little hard, but I am used to memory foam, so may be good for people used to a conventional mattress. Shower is amazingly hot and perfect with a shower head that actually has pressure. Breakfast is great, lots of choices, and very good orange juice. Overall, perfect location for us and easy to get to from London via coach. Rooms: Little small, but efficient for needs. Walkability: Easy to get to from coach, restaurant/pub nearby, and convenient mart in walking distance. Food drinks: Room service available, breakfast with juices and coffee."

"I love the vegan pizza option at zizzi, but the choice is quite limited. "Its two years since I last visited here for breakfast. It remains a cracking good place to eat. There is a full and varied breakfast menu. "It was 2 degrees outside, and about 10 degrees inside. I asked why it was so cold and was told the heating was broken. This should have been explained when we entered. Most people inside we wearing coats. the service was also very slow. That didn 't bother me too much until the end when we were still sitting there with plates around us and no offer of a desert menu. I asked for the bill and at the same time explained my thoughts on our evening there and that I felt the poor service and faulty heating should be reflected in our bill. 10 mins later I was told that they won 't be reducing our bill. I said ok, please give me your managers name and I will take it up with your head office. He then came back with the bill with a deduction of £5 for which he said I will get this in the neck later for giving me a deduction. £5 off of a bill for £90 is bare minimum and then the unnecessary guilt trip. This restaurant has a major problem, evidenced by the recent reviews on here. The food has definitely gone down hill and the service is frustratingly bad because it 's such basic things they are getting wrong."
