"We booked this restaurant for our 40th wedding anniversary. The welcome was fine once we had pointed out we were booked into the restaurant and not attending the private event upstairs as the doorman assumed. The table was nice if somewhat cramped, and taking of drinks and food orders was prompt, albeit a bit persistent, as we wanted time to relax and enjoy the occasion. The pre dinner cocktails were excellent and the starters were delicious. We did however encounter issues with our mains, with my wife being given cabbage rather than the crispy potatoes she ordered (they did replace them but only after we pointed the mistake out) and the peas and carrots side being provided without spoons to serve them with (again corrected only once we pointed the lack out). My halibut tranche had lots of small bones as well as the main one I had been expecting and wasn’t that enjoyable to eat as a result. My wife’s lamp chop was nicely cooked but not exceptional. In fairness, the restaurant took all of the sides, including my fries which were excellent, off the bill without promoting and they gave us a wonderful sorbet and chocolate plate for the occasion, so overall a nice enough evening but not to the high standard I expected, given my previous experience there."

I ordered a filet steak which was not up to a standard of filet in terms of quality, and was tough and hard to chew. I didn’t want to escalate it because of my guests, but made the complaint to the waitress. She said she will inform the Chef but never came back to me. first many thanks to the whole team at 34 mayfair. as soon as she goes to the service is great. a great thank you to jos who was our server and she was attentive and friendly. the venue is definitiw family friendly and has really met our needs when it comes to the children. they offer halal steaks and my usda strip steak was great with a soft maic. the food was good and delicious. the passion fruit parfait was ok, but the mini donuts were delicious.

Front doorman and hosts were so pleasant and delightful. But our waitress (long dark braid) was so rude and an absolute brat. I understand that wait staff in other countries (she was not from the UK) are allowed to get away with things that are not typical in other places, but I’ve never experienced anything like her. The food was great (crab, steak, etc), but she honestly ruined our last night in London. I expected our experience to be similar to what we have enjoyed all across the UK the past two weeks.
