"a first visit in this restaurant in plüsch mayfair. at the arrival they were warmly welcomed and welcomed by friendly staff. full marks here. they were properly sitting and served with a basket of different miniskule brot with butter. not sufficient for a table of 6. no refilling or even asking if one was required. a lot of drinks were ordered before eating. it took 3 requests for the drinks to finally arrive, although the bottle sparkling water was very fast. for the net I ordered the set roast beef sirloin lunch and possibly this would have been a very fine meal. there was a pretty waiting time until the main thing is served. the 2 slices of bark and the yorkshire pudding and crusty bratkartoffels looked very well presented and appetizing, although the bark was intermittently fat and chewing – with gristle somewhere in there. very disappointing in the did and out of the perceiving of the customer, this type of bark corresponds to a thing, and that is cheap / bad quality bark meat. they get 2 slices of roast beef and they would hopefully expect to eat the bark meat without fat and chewiness and it was certainly not warm or hot. the yorkshire pudding was large and airy, but was cold and probably left to lie after boiling. the brat potatoes were crunchy, but much too salty. the selection of vegetables was in order, but they were served stingy portions as they were divided under 3 beef diners. a bit misleading, as the picture of the Brat dinner would recommend that they get individual portions of side-narrow. after lunch I needed a 2 draws of ice much. the ice cream flavor was good, but the 3 pieces were very simple and could not justify this amount. I have the tasty with celestial and lemon curd sauces that were nice to taste. the restaurant was full with a good ambiente and the exit itself is very nicely located in a very expensive and plush area of london. that was, if I had expected a high-quality meal that I feared was not the case. the overall experience was expensive and in no way was it a good value for money. No one makes it to pay more than usual to go and eat, but at the same time they expect to get quality!"

"Baluchi is a pan-Indian dining restaurant in London within the Lalit hotel, set in the historic Grade II listed former St. Olave’s Grammar School. Baluchi can be found in what was the Great Hall and it’s one seriously stunning location. The high ceiling, royal blue colour, dark woods and beams, floor to ceiling windows and chandeliers give it a truly sophisticated, regal feel. Chef Jomon was funny, passionate and absolutely lovely. He told us tales and stories from India, the history to naan and tiffins they are lunch boxes with different levels which used to be shared among colleagues/friends at lunchtime) and made plenty of jokes. You could see his passion for the food, and his team, shine through throughout the whole evening. He even introduced us to part of the team and let us know that they all have a say in the menu and how things are presented at Baluchi. The Naan’ery experience at the bread bar £55 for solo, £99 for two) at Baluchi, features four courses of bread with accompanying dips and wine, followed by a tiffin to share. We were sat at the bar, right at the front of the restaurant, where we could see the breads being prepared. Chef Jomon told us how to make the naan – we even got to have a hand at making them ourselves! We rolled, filled and flattended them, ready for Chef Jomon to bake in the tandoor oven which is super hot! It was a fantastic experience getting to help and see it all up close. We were impressed by the fact they had a tandoor oven out by the bar so the bread could be cooked right in front of people dining. The first naan course is a fig and cheese kulcha, made with paneer. The paneer was grated rather than in the usual chunky form, making it spread throughout and giving the naan a creamier finish overall, rather than just little pockets of oozy cheese. The fig added a sweet edge too. The second naan is a porcini and truffle one. It’s a delicate balance of earthy truffle and nutty mushrooms. The definition of umami – a flavour which enlightens all the taste buds in the mouth. It arrived with a powerful tamarind dip, which added an extra element to the potent flavours and complimented the mushroom well. The paired wine was an MS Fratelli White; a smooth, crisp wine which complimented the mushroom well. The third bread course is a blue cheese naan made with a French blue. Again, this isn’t overly powerful, yet the blue cheese adds a nice creamy touch and a delicious underlying flavour. You wouldn’t have thought it was blue cheese though if you hadn’t been told – this bread actually changed Chef Jomon’s opinion on this type of cheese! It came with a delicious, tangy tomato dip making this course almost remind us of pizza – the cheese and the tomato. A glass of the MS Fratelli Red was served to accompany the naan. It was full-bodied, with tannins, making it quite potent. We thought the wine was fab, although perhaps could have had a slightly lighter variety to go with the cheese. Last but not least, we ended on a sweet note with a coconut and mango naan. It reminded us a touch of peshwari, subtle-y sweet. It’s served with a fantastic red berry/cherry dip, making it feel like a dessert option. A small glass of Muscat de Beaumes Devenise accompanied the final course. It’s a sweet dessert wine which is very sweet, and incredibly moreish. We couldn’t get enough. The breads were rounded off with a tiffin filled with Butter Chicken, Dal Baluchi, pilau rice and carrot halwa. The butter chicken was tender, creamy and aromatic. A fab, smooth and tasty curry which isn’t very spicy. We loved the lentil dal which was packed with flavour, and the pilau rice was perfectly cooked and fluffy. The carrot halwa was super sweet and stodgy making a delicious end to such a feast. This was an incredible experience at a seriously stunning pan Indian restaurant in London. There was also next level service, which such passion and humour radiating from Chef Jomon."

"The problem with having an eponymous restaurant Mr. Ramsey is that when your staff mistreats its customers, it reflects poorly on you. The horrible service would have been comical had we not been celebrating a birthday and career accomplishment. The waiter rudely chastised us for not listening when he asked who wanted sparkling water and who wanted still, seemingly having complete amnesia from our order just 5 mins earlier. When we casually shuffled the waters to the right person, he offered, unsolicited, it is not my fault you received the wrong waters, you weren 't listening. Our jaws hit the table. Later, we attempted to smooth over Watergate by explaining that we could not hear him in the loud restaurant (he seemed to only mouth his words instead of vocalize them). He responded you can 't expect me to raise my voice. Why yes, that 's exactly what we expected. We ordered burgers (two medium rare and one medium well) and fish and chips. After we said medium rare, he seemed to mouth the words medium well but we couldn 't actually hear him, he was still mouthing words and our lip reading skills were not up to task. Oddly, our food arrived less than a minute after we placed our order and when we inquired of the food runner which were medium rare, he responded, with condescension that they were all medium well and the restaurant was not licensed to serve meat any other way. What a surprise. The bottoms of the buns were complet lt soggy, indicating that they had been prepared long before we ordered them. Had it just been bad food, we might not have sworn off future visits to your restaurants. However, the fact that the staff felt unapologetically entitled to berate us is something that we can 't get past. That behavior comes from the top. Badly done Mr. Ramsey. Badly done indeed."
