"We went to this restaurant as it was near to my work. I would never have found it otherwise. I must say the food was delicious. One side of the restraunt does take out food, the other is a sit down restaurant. the food was amazing. After visits to many Arabic countries the food was authentic fresh and top quality. The service was amazing the owner was in every way breaking his back to please. We had a very good bottle of wine with our food so he also knows good wine choice. For those people who think the restaurant is out of the way this is not the case. there are bus stops in front of the door and Berliner Tor is only a 10 min walk. You must go! If you love arabic food it will not fail to please. We will definitely go back."

We went to this restaurant because it was close to my work. I never would have found it differently. I have to say the food was delicious. One side of the Restraunt takes food, the other is a sitting restaurant. The food was... shameful. After visiting many Arab countries, the food was authentically fresh and high quality. The service was amazing that the owner broke his back in every way. We had a very good bottle of wine with our food, so he also knows a good choice of wine. For those who think that the restaurant is out of the way, this is not the case. There are bus stops outside the door and Berliner Tor is just 10 minutes walk. You have to go! "There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
