"we wanted to visit the castle, which was completely overrun due to the rain weather. because we had hunger and had to wait one and a half hours on the bus, we decided to eat something locally. when we came in, we were not greeted first but only stared at the bar. it was relatiw full and we asked for a table for 2 people. we had luck and there was also a little free. then it came to wait. we didn't get a card, I got it after a quarter of an hour. then we sat around another quarter of an hour until we even spoke and ordered a waiter. a suppe and sulz on salat. it took a beaten half an hour until our food came and I can't say it safely, but think that the suppe came out of the pack and also the kaspressknödel. visually, the lockkeeper is really nice but the rest was unfortunately disappointing. the waiters are friendly but not particularly attentive. Maybe it was because a lot was going on? I wish the future guests :-)"

Previously it was a very original lockshenke with great and very friendly service. Today it is unfortunately only a tourist trap, very unfriendly and you have the feeling more than hospitable you should avoid and select a restaurant close to it.

The menu is traditional Tyrolean, so not too many light options. Had the dumplings with sauerkraut which were quite good and enough for 2. My husband had the grey cheese soup which I found too salty, but he enjoyed. Very reasonable. Lots of sweet options as well. Pretty setting.

What better way to spend time on a hot sunny day whilst waiting for the Schloss Train than sampling the ice cream menu? For those with more time and bigger appetites a full Tyrolean menu is offered, and from the numbers on hand seemed very popular. Picturesque and well presented.

We had the spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti with tomatosauce, which consisted of a mountain of pasta with a can passata on top it. Absolutely disguisting. the meat in the Bolognese sauce was awful. Very touristic restaurant with no feeling for good food. The service however was good.

We had draft beer herbal lemonade (bottled). Both were good and reasonable priced. The restaurant is located on the Trazberg castle grounds, at the bottom, across from a fabulous playground. We would visit again. Want to see where else we've been? Follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest TheTraveling5

We stopped here after our visit to the castle. It was a warm day and we sat outside. We ordered the large bratwurst and potato special. Both the brats and the service was very good. Watch out for the bees in summer-one drowned in my beer. The staff was nice enough to call a cab for us so we could back down to the train station.

If you are visiting Schloss Tratzberg you can't fail to find this restaurant, as it is at the bottom of the hill just a few minutes walk from the castle's car park. It is a very pleasant inviting restauarant serving traditional food. We enjoyed spending a few hours here sat outside relaxing with a cold beer before heading up to the castle. There is a good selection of food and the food we had was tasty and fresh.

"I'm not really excited, but I'm very happy to take it. at the arrival I immediately noticed the almost completely occupied parking places, which I first brought back to the fact that it was Saturday night. I was pleased with the rural presentation immediately and the very well-stocked gas rooms impressed me and made it seem to me that it must be a very popular gas house. this was confirmed a short time later than the very friendly waitress brought the menu and took up the drinks. a more attentive round view brought my curiosity to eat, because the portions that were served all around were lost were delightful to the palate. And indeed, some of the tellers seemed to be eating for two, but this proved to be irrtum when my salad plate was served with grilled cute pieces. I am not a bad eater, however, I had my effort to fully incorporate the excellent meal to me and not only I was so, almost everyone gassed got a amazed look at the size of the portions. the taste stood in nothing and when I paid I had to ask if the charming waitress had not forgotten to calculate, because 2 excellent speissen incl. 2 drinks at 36 euro appeared to me a little bit! but there are the portions really big and the price small. a family business that really deserves its excellent call. my opinion after 5 stars restaurant with 3 hoods kitchen if this is possible, am no restaurant critic!"
