"We used to frequent this fish and chip shop, but we will definitely not be returning. The food left much to be desired, as the cod I ordered had a large bone in the middle and minimal white flakes of fish. The batter was crispy, but my daughter's scampi mostly consisted of hollow pieces of batter. The staff service was adequate, but we were put off by an older man with a moustache rolling a cigarette at a table in the back of the restaurant while also wrapping cutlery in napkins. Despite our British tendency to just pay and leave, it is disappointing as my husband has been coming to this restaurant since he was a child, and we have been bringing our child here for 14 years. It seems like there may have been another change in ownership."

This restaurant offers fantastic quality and value. The chips were particularly outstanding! The service was friendly and I also enjoyed a glass of wine with my meal.

I went to this restaurant with my family today and the food was exceptional. The chips and batter were the best I've had in the last 50 years. I will definitely be returning again.

This could be the best fish and chips I have ever had. I decided to give this place a try because it stood out from the other seafood spots, and I'm glad I did. Everything was freshly prepared and the portion sizes were definitely generous. It was so delicious that I ended up coming back for a second visit a week later.

This is hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had! The fish was incredibly fresh, the batter and chips were delightfully crispy. The restaurant, Möwe/Seaside, is licensed so you can enjoy a beer or wine with your meal. The owner is a friendly and generous guy, and the prices are very reasonable. I'll definitely be back for more when I'm in town again!

Denis, the owner of 1066 Fish Bar, hosted our group who were filming in Hastings in the final few weeks of March. He was so friendly welcoming to our entire party. We also ended up eating at 1066 several times through the week. In my opinion it was one of the best chippies on the front!! I'd definitely recommend popping in to see Denis for some FnC if you ever get the chance.

We visited the restaurant on a bank holiday Monday and noticed that it was less crowded than other surrounding places. It may have been because they were not participating in the eat out to help out scheme, but we were able to get a window table as a result. The food came out fairly quickly and the fish was tasty. The chips were a bit overcooked, but I personally like them crispy. We shared bottles of ketchup and tartare sauce, and thankfully brought our own hand sanitizer. Overall, it was a decent meal, but not something we would go out of our way to return for. Seeing the long queues at other places, we couldn't help but wonder if there was something we were missing.
