"I recently visited this restaurant for the first time during a cycling trip with a friend. It is a popular spot for cycling groups, so I was excited to experience it for myself on a cold and foggy November day. The atmosphere was pleasant, but it can get quite busy, making it challenging to find a table and affecting the service. I had a large pot of tea and a cake (with plenty of choices), while my friend enjoyed a coffee and a bacon and egg roll. The prices were reasonable, especially considering the ongoing price increases due to inflation and heating costs. I plan to come back with my wife to try out more of the menu options."

Lovely home cooked food that is delicious. This is the best in the area right now. Sometimes a bit of a wait but it’s always worth it. Dog friendly too. Rachel Daniel work really hard to bring you best quality food thank you it’s appreciated!

I have become a regular visitor to this restaurant. It is charming but a little chilly in the depths of winter. Don't let that put you off, they have a wood-burning stove and heaters plus blankets available if needed. The food is excellent and so is the service.

This place is amazing, I’m so glad it’s local to me! The staff are so lovely, even when they are understaffed, your are still served with a smile and they regularly check if everything is ok. Nothing is a problem here, they cater for allergies and intolerances with ease and reassurance. The afternoon tea is INCREDIBLE View menu

For my sister’s 60th birthday I ordered an afternoon tea for 6 people to takeaway and enjoy in the garden with some family. Rachel was so helpful and accommodating and every bit of the food was exquisite. This is the third or fourth time we have used this service and it has always been 100% reliable and quality. Thank you.

Visited today for lunch. The food was excellent as always but was not an enjoyable experience to it being so cold in the barn. Usually the woodburner is going but not today. Customers were all sitting in their coats. I remarked to the waitress how cold it was as. Yes it is she said. Think we will wait till warmer weather till we return.

This restaurant is one of our favorite spots to visit regularly. The food is consistently delicious, generous portions, and definitely worth coming back for. It can be a bit chilly in some areas during winter, but overall it's a fantastic place to dine at, especially during the summer. We've never tried their afternoon tea, but it looks fantastic. The staff is friendly and the service is good. View menu

I ordered tea and chocolate cake this afternoon. It came out as a whole cake, not yet cut into slices. It looked delicious, but when it was placed on the plate, I was surprised by how greasy it appeared. The cake seemed to be soaked in oil, like a sponge cake. I couldn't continue eating it. I asked the waitress if the cake had been cooked using oil, and she confirmed that it was in the recipe. I later found out that the other cakes were baked with butter instead. The waitress didn't seem concerned when I expressed my dislike for the cake. I won't be coming back to this restaurant.

Well worth passing the usual venues on the A5 if you are in the area for some quality food at reasonable prices, excellent service and clearly by the number of tables occupied a popular choice .. we were directed upstairs as the ground floor was full! Although the wood burner was in operation downstairs the upstairs was not cold. What a change to have some tasty coffee and we both enjoyed our Paninis, in our case Fish Finger Tartare Sauce and Tuna with Cheese, sharing a portion of chips. Salad accompaniment could not be faulted, hot chips and we took away a portion of the Blueberry Cake most enjoyable!

"I had been reading a lot on Facebook about the pub and the quality of the food on offer. So when my partner suggested an impromptu Sunday lunch I suggested The White Horse. I called to check they would still be serving as time was getting on. I booked a table for 3.30pm. We arrived and were met by very friendly staff who got us drinks and showed us to our table. I had intended to try the new Trio of meats sharing board which had been publicised on Facebook, however it transpires that it had “blown up” and sold out in hours. Also, they were out of beef and Yorkshire puddings. Could have been disappointing but we are both realistic people and understand we had booked last minute and late in the day, the weather was also fantastic so a lot of folks were out and about. The waitress offered us steak in place of beef. When we had asked about the sharing board she asked the kitchen what they could do and they were able to offer some pork belly, which my partner had, I took the steak. We shared bread and olives to start, with some halloumi fries. My partner says they were the best she had ever had. Both dishes were delicious. The main courses were equally delicious. I particularly enjoyed the red cabbage and cauliflower, the pork was moist and sweet, the steak tender. We very much enjoyed our experience and will be back very soon, though we will plan better, book earlier and will give a review on the Trio of meats sharing board very soon. Looking forward to it already. Highly recommended."
