"We visited here for lunch one Saturday. The menu looked expensive so we expected large portions and top quality. The food arrived very quickly and we were disappointed. The £12 deli sandwich my husband had was in a large roll that looked like the type I would buy at the supermarket and came with a small salad. My soup was delicious but a small bowl and one roll was nearly £8. The cake I had after was huge but quite dry. When I paid I got asked if it was all ok and I said I thought it was expensive for the quantity and the waitress just replied ‘oh’! Nice place for a coffee but let down by the food."

The staff at this restaurant are extremely friendly. They are soon moving to a new location next door to make way for a new farm shop. The food is excellent, especially the soup which passed my 10 spoon test.

We stopped here just to buy plants. We ended up treating ourselves to a coffee and cake. The Blueberry and lemon and Malteser chocolate cake are to die for! Their service was friendly too. We'll be back for more.

Four of us dined for lunch in the garden of the Barrows Bistro sat at a picnic table. The best item we ate were the fish butties although they are priced at £10.90.We are eagerly awaiting completion of the new food market which should be good.Tasty food and drinks in the cafe. View menu

We were delighted to see that The Barrow was open despite the building work. The service, food and ambience excellent. The Whitby Fish Platter to share was absolutely delicious. In fact all the meals coming out looked great. Always one of the places we go to when in the Harrogate area. Can't wait to see the extended restaurant.

The best breakfast I have had in Harrogate so far. I have driven past this place hundreds of times and have never thought to go in. We were visiting the garden centre and the bistro is a hidden gem with a great outdoor area. Service was fantastic. I ordered the eggs benny with avocado and it was delicious. I looking forward to visiting next time for lunch.

I recently hosted a Birthday Party at The Barrows Bistro and I was thoroughly impressed. I was looking for a unique venue, different from the usual hotel or pub setting, and I was not let down. The service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the ambiance made the event feel very special. I found the pricing to be reasonable as well. I would highly recommend this venue for any special occasions. View menu

Visited for a light snack however despite the pricey menu, the toasted tea cake had been previously frozen and was hard. It also contained cranberry which wasnt a favourite but this wasnt mentioned on the menu so we asked for a substitute. Scones came instead but these were dry and cold. They had no doubt been frozen but usually the bistro serves them warm to offset this. The waitress was quite curt and defensive although we were polite throughout. I will not visit again.

We went for Sunday lunch, which was a great deal at £19.50 for two courses including tea or coffee. Although the Sunday lunch menu was smaller than the regular All Day menu, there was still a good variety of options. We found all of our meals to be delicious, and the desserts were fantastic. The staff were attentive and professional, and the atmosphere in the bistro was very relaxed. If this is the level of quality we can expect from the new restaurant, we will definitely be returning.
