"You do not need a time capsule to drift back, to a time when a business went a million miles to make you fill so wanted, but add to that your dog, yes your dog, the bestvdog friendly cafe your ever come across. If you got problems sitting on a aluminium seat there are cushions provided. You can enjoy a delicious bacon sarnie with a book, yes they have second books, donate by other customers. The funds go last hope Dog charity. Stunning views better than Monty Carlo, beach dog friendly, you maybe lucky and see a sailing boat race. I want to go on and on and on, come and see yourself this gem, you can see the wind farm off shore with your coffee or tea. What could be more priceless than seeing a old Thames Barge sailing by, as they used to up and down our coast line. If want a extra to this gem, Frinton On Sea is just 2 to 2 half walk away, and over the back is a lovely country park, buy a parking ticket though. Dogs can enjoy a beach play then sniff and read. So there you have it. Come on down"

Lovely place serves a great cuppa and Ice cream for the family when taking a beach stroll. The meals being served looked nice and plentiful.

Came across this place by chance walking to Frinton along the coastline. Seems a little goldmine with good food, drinks and ices. Well worth coming back to.

We used to enjoy this cafe since it's close to our home, but the food and drinks have become disappointing. The sausages taste cheap and the overall quality has declined. We prefer going to Flags Cafe now, where both the food and service are much better. View menu

This is a fantastic place. They make a good mug of tea and the apple pie is absolutely delicious..possibly the best I’ve ever had. The staff are friendly and considerate and dogs are most welcome. A truly great cafe. The prices were fair too. All in all excellent. We’ll be back again and again!

Having walked from Clacton Pier to Holland on Sea we decided to have a break for lunch here. We chose Jacket potatoes, one with cheese and coleslaw and one with tuna mayonnaise. Neither my partner or i were disappointed in our choices. The portions are very generous and filling and we had service with a smile at a reasonable cost in Clacton. View menu

Stopped here this Friday for lunch with the family, staff were fantastic and the burger I had was great cooked perfectly, my wife had jam on toast and said it was great kids had a burger and a cheese sandwich both loved them. The location is very nice and the atmosphere was relaxed and very friendly. I would recommend the beach haven cafe to anyone.

Last week, my friend and I visited The Beach Haven for our annual tradition of having tea and a sausage sandwich. The food was just as delicious as always. When it was time to leave and we needed a taxi back to Frinton, the staff went out of their way to help us by calling a cab firm. It's no surprise that we keep coming back to this place year after year.

"We had been to Franco's many times before and loved it, both under the original ownership and the new. However, it seems that it has changed hands yet again and not for the good I'm afraid. Although, judging by the November reviews maybe it is back on track again. I also note that late September/early reviews are similar to ours, which was very poor. In fact we left before the food arrived, mainly due to the extremely poor level of service we received with our drinks. We were out to celebrate my wife's birthday and to start the evening, the four of us all ordered double Gin Tonic's. However, it took 40 minutes for the drinks to arrive. And if if we thought the time taken to bring the drinks was bad, then you can imagine our disappointment when one of the waitresses brought four large dirty glasses with what looked like water in them. No ice, no lemon, and the mixers already poured in the glass, so no way to judge what level of gin we had received. When we asked about the ice and lemon they looked at us in astonishment. We assumed that they had none of neither, otherwise why bring drinks without the basics? It was like they had never worked in a bar/restaurant before and had just wandered in off the street. To make matters worse, they then arrived later with a glass of lemons and a glass of ice. By this stage we could see the evening descending into chaos and we decided to leave. No apology from the staff or questions, they just allowed us to leave and got on with their business. Very off-putting. We decided to try Killocks, which was surprisingly good. Unfortunately, that's another restaurant off the go-to list."
