"visit here on Saturday with the family. the staff behind the bar were friendly and greeted them with a smile. unfortunately I didn't really enjoy eating. there were only two appetizers that you should really choose, unless you have pork cake or ice cream as an appetizer. I had the courgette bands and the woman had tomato and wobble salat. the Courgette court consisted of a huge plate of raw courgette with a dust of parmesan and pine nuts. unfortunately I found it bland and from proportion. the tomatensalat the woman was ok, but nothing special. for the net I had the bambiburger. the bungalow and the dresses were good, but the burger was a bit overboiled and dry. there were only five netts to choose from (I believe) and two of them were brain dishes, not ideal if they were not like brain, as per my wife. so she went for a mozzarella salad that was in order again, but no inspiration. it is a pity that I write an evaluation with an average score because I had heard good things about this place. Maybe I just caught her on a bad day."

Lovely location in the heart of the village by the church and the pound. A traditional pub with 5+ real ales and ciders etc. A restricted but good choice of food and not your run of the mill pub food. Large enclosed beer garden to...the rear. Food good but not outstanding.

This is just a wonderful little pub, full of history with an amazing back garden. I have visited a few times and love the food, have always had lovely meals and great service. Everyone is very friendly, the staff and all the locals! Last time...i visited i had the Bambi Burger and it was amazing.

Had the fish and chips with crushed peas. A medium sized piece of ling in excellent batter served on a bed of crushed minted peas (with garlic, I think) and a good dollop of tartare sauce, along with a separate bowl of excellent crispy chips...with a container of tomato sauce. A good latte coffee as well, and an excellent range of different drinks to top it all off.

This pub is mainly a beer place food is variable but they do try, quite expensive for lack of restaurant ambiance and lack of table service everything ordered at the bar. Very popular with the locals for a drink, the female manager is rather...fierce so better not to cross her lines, what ever they are? I heard her speak in a manner to a customer that was not acceptable. This pub seems to have a following of local people fir food and beer.

I have just been directed by trip advisor to review this pub. Well I did it a few months ago and cannot understand where all the other reviews have gone? This is a real English pub. I mean, old building with bags of history. Low...beams in centre of village next to church. Lots of little rooms and different levels inside. Lovely food and great beers. Sit out the front and watch the odd car go by or in the garden out back. This is the real deal.
