"My friend and I visited a restaurant we used to frequent when we worked nearby. Unfortunately, we were disappointed from start to finish. It took us 15 minutes to get someone to take our drink order, and when we ordered the Artisan Bread and butter for the table, we were served lightly toasted sliced bread with no explanation. After waiting 5 more minutes, I had to ask our waiter about the bread, and was told they had run out. The main course, Bangers and Mash, was delicious, but we were disappointed with the minimal amount of Clotted Cream provided with our Treacle Tart dessert. When we asked for more cream, we were given coconut ice cream as they had run out of Dorset Clotted Cream. It seemed like there was a lack of communication between the kitchen and waitstaff about available options. Unfortunately, the restaurant was understaffed and did not meet our expectations, resulting in a negative review. Despite this disappointing experience, we still plan on visiting other Davy's Wine Bars like The Mug House, Davy's at St James, and The Crusting Pipe."

We visited the restaurant for the first time and was pleased to see that it is recovering well from the effects of the pandemic.

I had passed by this restaurant a few times before (and laughed at the name), but this time I couldn't resist - I had to give it a try.

I made a reservation through Opentable, received a confirmation, and was even reminded, but upon arrival at the restaurant, it was closed.

This restaurant serves the best platters to go with your wine. The scotch egg is deliciously runny. It's the perfect spot for after work drinks.

Having g booked the Cellars, apon arrival they were not open so we were ushered upstairs to what more resembled an extended off licence with small tables. Not quite the dining experience we were looking forward to, and given there was not one other customer, we decided to leave and eat somewhere more convivial.

Our main courses, however, were delicious, with the Bangers and Mash being a standout. When it came to dessert, we shared a Treacle Tart with Clotted Cream, but were disappointed by the minimal amount of cream provided. When my friend asked for more cream, he was brought bowls of coconut ice cream after a long wait. We later found out that the cream we had been served was just double cream, not the advertised Dorset Clotted Cream as they had also run out of that. It appeared that the kitchen was not effectively communicating with the waitstaff about available menu items. The restaurant also seemed to be understaffed, leading to a negative experience for us. Despite this, we will still visi...
