"We frequently visit the Cheshire Lines for lunch as we always enjoy the food. During our most recent visit, I ordered the rump steak which was cooked perfectly to my liking. The chips that came with it were crispy and delicious. For dessert, I tried the apple and cider pie with cream, which was also very tasty. We were served Worker Bee coffee by a waiter named Trev, who was very attentive to our needs. My wife ordered her usual sweet chilli salmon, which was prepared exactly how she likes it. The staff at the restaurant were friendly and went out of their way to make our experience enjoyable. The restaurant is located near a railway line, hence the name 'The Cheshire Lines', but unfortunately, the trains that pass by are only freight trains and not very frequent."

Had a lovely lunch, Trev served us and he was very friendly and helped with suggestions on the menu. Fish and chips were great and my mum can’t have gluten or dairy and there were lots of options for her. Will be back.

We visited the restaurant on a Saturday night and were surprised to find it very quiet. However, we were extremely impressed with the excellent food and service. The portion sizes were very generous and the menu offered a great range of varied foods, especially the starters and desserts. We highly recommend this restaurant!

We have visited here as a family for birthdays 3/4 times a year for the last 3 years. The food is always amazing quality and the service is always amazing! This time Lisa and Peter looked after us, there is always friendly chatter with the table and nothing seems too much bother for them! Always our first choice for a meal out, a nice quiet atmosphere filled with friendly faces :

Having been for the Sunday carvery a couple of times recently, i booked a table for a large group family get together. All meals were brought out fairly quickly and portions were great. As a family we were a bit disorganised (too busy chatting) and were slow to choose our meals but the staff were patient and gave us plenty to time to browse the menu. We will definitely return again.

Previously used this Pub/Restaurant on a very regular basis based on recent reports decided to try again. On ordering the Gammon salmon from the two for £20 special was told the Gammon was served cold. Decided to go for the separate mains menu on being served comprised of two very small pieces of Gammon, seven chips, hard egg, pineapple 20+ peas all for £15 Salmon again more like a childs portion All this for £30 which which was a total rip off I am afraid based on competition in the area will not be rushing back. Service was OK but nothing special in view of very quiet in the pub not exactly rushed off their feet Would not consider returning back to Wetherspoons if I ever want ordinary pub fo...

"Alborz is a wonderful hidden gem in Levenshulme that serves a variety of Persian and Middle-Eastern food, located on Stockport Rd you could be forgiven for thinking that Alborz is as unassuming as it's humble exterior suggests. However, what lies behind those modest doors is truly fantastic restaurant both in terms of food and service. The interior is understated and tasteful, furnished with Persian vases and ornate tea sets, the tables are close together to make the most of the limited space available but this lends a refreshing communal atmosphere to your meal. The staff were friendly and attentive and more than happy to talk you through the menu and explain the various dishes. We ordered the Mezze Platter to start, this consists of four different starters, and is ideal if you're not overly familiar with Persian cuisine, the homemade hummus was a particular highlight being both fresh and tasty. We then ordered the Alborz special grill for two, which looks as wonderful as it tastes, succulent skewers of koobideh and chicken accompanied by grilled vegetables, saffron rice and a freshly baked taltoon bread which was frankly quite ridiculous in its magnificence and is so large it came supplied with its own stand. This was a true delight to eat and I can highly recommend it. After all of that, we were overloaded with food and couldn't possibly consider having dessert and so, asked for the bill, which led to true surprise of the evening, all of this wonderfully authentic and fresh food came to a grand total of £42. This reflects tremendous value in a time where a meal for two can often prove quite expensive. Overall I would say that Alborz is definitely worth visiting if you're in the area and if you're not well then it's worth making the trip for. If you're a fan of Persian food or perhaps want to try something new then you would genuinely struggle to find such a quality dining experience at this price point."
