"You are unable to sit at your table and order food from a menu. Instead you have to stare at a large blackboard then order at the bar so if you ask for a description of what something is don't fancy it, you then have to go back to the board again. I had the Kentish Blue Salad which sounded very nice. It was actually a bit strange. Both hot cold lettuce with crumb sized bits of blue cheese walnut, but as well as mixing hot cold lettuce (this should never happen) there were also 2 quartered pieces of very crisp apple but this too was hot as it been put on a griddle but still as crisp as an uncooked Granny Smith. My husband had pork fritters. Fritters are defined as slices covered in batter. What actually turned up were pea sized bits of pork deep fried in batter, so more like croutons really then only about 6 on the plate. We both had crab with a breadcrumb topping. The crab was all dark meat it ended up being quite sickly. It was also the temperature of molten lava I had to empty it out of it's dish onto the plate to try to cool it down a bit. Overall the service from the waitress was great but the rest of it was pretty awful. The food combinations were awful, it didn't taste very nice it was well overpriced. What was even more disappointing, was the website looks fantastic but none of the menus on the website were available just a pretty lack lustre blackboard choice. A classic case of trying too hard to be a bit different but going way over the edge."
