"A very friendly welcome awaits you in this pleasant medium size café. Very good coffee here. Full English breakfast with everything you expect, very precisely cooked and well plated. Fine sausages and eggs beautifully done. Omelette with cheese, mushroom and bacon was superb. Omelettes are not easy to do well but the chef in Chaplains has the knack. We also enjoyed a toasted tea cake and jam, fresh butter and quality jam. We also had toast and marmalade. Great bread beautiful marmalade. Made to feel welcome on our first visit will be back here again and soon!"

It was a great way to start the day with excellent food that was well prepared by friendly and attentive staff. While you may find cheaper options, you won't find better - the food was just delicious and exactly what I was looking for.

We enjoyed another fantastic roast dinner at Chaplin's on Tuesday, December 12th. I ordered the lamb and my wife had the chicken. We also shared a delicious crumble for dessert, but were too full to each have our own. We have already made a reservation for the Christmas menu on Sunday. We absolutely love this place!

Living in Deal, I often come to Dover and started coming here about a year ago. Run by husband and wife..obviously many regulars and they seem pleased to see everyone..a very welcoming atmosphere. Excellent cafe food, well priced. Today I had a large bowl of really good vegetable soup..obviously home made. It’s a pleasure to visit !
