what an incredible place to spend a afternoon and evening. besides the perfect look, eating and drinking was very expensive and the staff very attentive. I'll be back!

Best meal I have had in years, could not fault it or the service. Only downside was the desert of cheese board which only came with jacobs crackers, at I find that very tight and would not have it again. The fish was excellent and good value at

No vegetarian option for the set menu , what looked like the vegetarian option had mean on it and the waitress said there was no to change it . No other menu was on offer so we had drinks and then left to go somewhere else so disappointing considering it was husband birthday and promotion meal ! View menu

If the waitress spent less time talking and more time attending to customers it would help . We waited minutes whilst she chatted and in the end I had to interrupt her to get her attention. The whole place lacked atmosphere. In the past this used to be THE PLACE IN TORQUAY TO DINE. Not anymore it looked very down market.

Presentation very good. Service attentive and friendly. Ambience ok (large dining area but few diners on this early Sunday evening). So what’s not to like? Well, we weren’t advised that the only menu on offer the weekend before Valentine’s Day was romantically themed (of course at a fixed price irrespective of whether we fancied all four courses or not. Underwhelmed by the inflexibility of that, even if the courses were well prepared.

Sunday dinner . the starter was satisfactory although I would prefer a dressing on the salat. the brat potatoes were hard and had nothing left in the middle, they seemed to be cooked and warmed many times. the lamb was tasteless, but my partner beef was ok. my sticky toffee pudding had no sticky on him, completely dry. my partner brownie was dry and looked like a piece of chocolate cake instead of a brownie. when I asked if the ice on the sticky toast could be replaced by camouflaged cream, the answer was, I don't think we any.
