"Will never be returning, was a very good restaurant years ago. The Sunday menu was extremely limited and expensive. I had said to my family who came from Aussie that I didn’t particularly like anything on the menu and my mother asked the waitress if there was anything on the other menu during the week I could have but that was politely declined. I went outside to make a phone call and the very nasty manager/supervisor turned round to my family and asked “how old I was” because I didn’t like anything on the limited menu, My family soon got up and left before ordering food. The waitress even said to my mum that he speaks before he thinks which is outrageous. I really don’t recommend coming here. We went to The Castle in Berwick which was amazing."

We ate here two nights while on holiday in Norham. The food was delicious and the staff very friendly and very attentive. If we had found this place sooner we would have eaten here every night.

This pub is a hidden gem. I have been wanting to visit during my trips to the Borders and finally had the chance. It was definitely worth the wait. The menu is excellent, the food is great, and the service is excellent and very welcoming. Even though I am not a vegetarian, I decided to try a vegetarian dish and I am glad I did.

This restaurant is a hidden gem that is worth visiting. It is a traditional pub with a lovely interior where you can choose to sit at the bar or in the restaurant. The food is fantastic and the staff and locals are incredibly friendly. They also welcome dogs, making it even more appealing. I highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.

Staying in nearby Berwick, The Cross was recommended to us by another cyclist. For starters we had the chicken liver pate and steamed mussels, both of which came with the most amazing bread which is made on site. We had the handmade steak burger and the seared tuna steak for our main courses. Generous portions of delicious food served by friendly, efficient staff. So good, we’ve booked again for Saturday.

We came here on holiday a couple of years' ago and were eager to return. We were not disappointed. The menu is imaginative and wide ranging, the food is excellent, the staff are very efficient and friendly and it's a lovely pub to eat in. The real ale was excellent. It was very busy for a Thursday night which is a testimony to the success of the owners and staff. Highly recommended, we look forward to returning.

I don't understand why some people feel the need to use social media to negatively impact businesses. The Sunday lunch menu at The Cross offers a selection of 4 meats and options for vegetarians. Self-entitlement seems to be a growing issue in our country, especially considering the recent challenges faced by businesses like The Cross due to Covid. It's time to show some restraint and act more maturely, rather than behaving like a child with an iPhone and an unwanted opinion.

A long time since previous visit but standards haven’t dropped and the place still looks fresh and stylish. The place was packed for a Thursday night but the service was quick, friendly and efficient. The food was very tasty and delivered on flavour and presentation. Fish and chips done really well, slow cooked beef shin and a curry all delivered only downside was no room for a pud. Great selection of beers and cocktails too. This is a little gem and well worth the 10 minute drive from Berwick-upon-Tweed.

We were staying at Paxton House and were recommended to dine at The Cross Inn at Paxton village , but we would need to book in advance. What a wonderful time we had. The food and drinks selection was good, to suit anyone's palette, The food was well prepared and delicious. My wife had crayfish salad and I, sirloin stake with chips and salad. They were good portion sizes. The service was excellent and staff marvellous. Its was a Wednesday night and it was busy. The staff were very friendly and obliging that we got a lift back to our motorhome as the weather had deteriorated. We thoroughly recommend dining there

Superb, we booked last minute and the team were able to squeeze us in for dinner service. The reception from the team was excellent and the pub has a really cosy and inviting atmosphere when you walk in and wander around the bar to the tables. Drinks were prompt and the food was absolutely spot on. My partner had the pate starter the bread was delicious and really set the tone for the meal. Mains were the chicken tikka skewers and steak medium rare, both cooked to perfection and jam packed with flavour. I had the cheesecake pudding to finish and I was so glad I saved room it was divine! Honestly can't rate the team, food and service highly enough would recommend in an instant!
