"We were given a lovely table in the window for our Afternoon Tea voucher booking overlooking the garden and park opposite. The waitress was very nice and was on hand throughout our visit to top up the bottomless Tea and check we were happy with the food. The first tier arrived comprising of small sandwiches, cheese scones and mini quiche. The bitesize sandwiches were a little disappointing and could do with being of a more standard size. The second tier arrived and was more impressive with two large plain scones, clotted cream (Cornish potted version) and a huge serving of strawberry jam. Accompanying the scones was a selection of lovely fresh cakes and tarts which made up for the sandwiches previously. Having not been here for a number of years it was a nice to visit again and was topped off with a cold glass of prosecco we hadn't realised was included with our voucher."

Amazing afternoon tea. Such good value in great atmospheric surroundings. Make sure you go to the museum next door as well. Booking is required for both the museum and afternoon tea.

Mother's Day cream tea. This was a wonderful day a treat for my mum. Food was wonderful especially the coronation chicken. The deserts were brilliant and we left full and happy. The young lady serving the upstairs was wonderful and friendly and nothing was to much trouble View menu

beautiful afternoon and beautiful that they get some hearty items as well as sandwiches. but rather full of the time when we scorp the cake and scorp, but they encourage them to take home what they go. also beautiful that all the drinks they want are included and not only tea and coffee. will definitely go back. would recommend a booking although it is a small tee room.

Had afternoon tea which was excellent lots of food savoury served first on tiered stand nice selection not just the usual sandwiches them another tiered stand brought out of cakes and scones unlimited tea. Down side is the room is looking very tired shame when they spent all that money on the building extension they didn’t referb the tea room really let’s it down and spoils what otherwise would be a lovely afternoon tea

My family celebrated my Mums 80th birthday here today. It’s my favourite place in Northampton for afternoon tea and extremely good value. The food is excellent and there’s always some left over to take home. As a vegan the selection of sandwiches, pastries and cakes offered are amazing everyone else really enjoyed there’s too. Rachael always answered my emails promptly when organising the booking. I highly recommend a visit. View menu

We both thoroughly enjoyed the food, friendliness and excellent service in the Dining Room. The sandwiches, pastries, scones and cakes were all delicious. I will definitely go again soon. The tea was nice and consistently refilled and all for the one price. Definitely worth a visit, but allow at least and hour and a half as there is so much food you may struggle to eat it all. You get two food deliveries, savoury and sweet. We were there for 2 hours and took some lovely food home with us. A lovely location to catch up with old friends. Give them a try and I don’t think you will be disappointed.

The dining room felt like a disused back room in someone 's house; clean enough but not particularly inviting. The service was ok; the waitress was pleasant but we had to ask for extra drinks rather than being offered. Sandwiches were removed to make way for the deserts and we assumed they 'd be boxed up but unfortunately not. Remaining cakes we had to ask for them to be boxed up. The food was rather average; sandwiches and scones were nice (these were served warm and were very fresh) but the 'deserts ' appeared to be defrosted (or had spent some time in the fridge getting a little soggy), clotted cream served in fridge packs, jam in a ramekin with no serving spoon, strange pink faircakes th...

"I had the pleasure of visiting La Terraza Tapas Bar in Upton with my kids, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The ambiance was incredibly cozy and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a family outing. The friendly staff added to the welcoming atmosphere, making us feel right at home. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the tapas selection. The steak with chimichurri sauce was a burst of flavors that left us craving for more, and the Tempura prawns were simply delectable. It's clear that the chefs here take pride in their creations, as every dish we tried was a delightful journey for the taste buds. As a first-time visitor, I was thoroughly impressed by the overall experience, and I can confidently say it won't be our last visit. While the prices leaned slightly towards the expensive side, the quality of the food and the cozy ambiance more than made up for it. La Terraza Tapas Bar strikes the perfect balance between a gourmet dining experience and a comfortable family outing. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the restaurant, which is always an important factor for me when choosing a place to dine. All in all, La Terraza Tapas Bar offers a fantastic option for a memorable lunch with family or friends. If you're looking for a place that combines delicious food, a warm atmosphere, and a touch of elegance, this is definitely a spot worth considering. AKASAKA Japanese

"I wondered why this restaurant described itself on the board outside as ‘fusion’, why there were so many Korean dishes on the menu and why the serving staff have heard of Asahi beer but haven’t heard of The Asahi Shimbun, a Japanese daily newspaper that is at least 50 years old. The answer is that the Akasaka website isn’t being completely honest when it describes their Northampton branch as a Japanese restaurant. They aren’t really Japanese, although some of their menu items are clearly Japanese. Don’t let that put you off, however, as they are serving excellent food and we enjoyed our meal there very much. It cost us about £70 (inc. 10% tip) for our meal for two people including a 175ml glass of Sauvignon Blanc for my lovely wife and two 330ml bottles of Asahi Dry for me. The sushi was excellent, the edamame beans were great but we didn’t feel that the Dolsot Bibimbap (a Korean dish with loads of rice, some shredded vegetables, prawns and a fried egg on top) offered very good value for money at just under sixteen pounds. We would recommend Akasaka in Northampton and would certainly go there again, but if we want a genuinely Japanese meal, prepared and served by Japanese staff, then we will be sticking to Ginza Restaurant on Wellingborough Road in Northampton. Don’t like the way that the male members of staff at Sakura on Bridge Street speak to their female colleagues, very disrespectful, so we avoid that Japanese restaurant nowadays. Great to have a choice of three Japanese restaurants in Northampton post-pandemic, and our favourite of the three is Ginza."
