This restaurant is a decent choice for gluten-free options, but it may not be the best choice. While they do offer gluten-free bread and some tasty tapas dishes, it's important to note that they don't have a dedicated fryer, so the chips are not safe for those with celiac disease. Unfortunately, they don't have gluten-free beer on tap.

We couldn’t recommend The Fat Badger any more! We stayed at the hotel and decided to have a Sunday roast there for dinner. We tried all the nibbles, a pork roast and the sticky toffee pudding for dessert and there isn’t a single thing I could fault in the whole meal. Not only was the food incredible, but so was the staff. Darren went above and beyond to ensure our meal and our experience was one to remember. He was amazing and we’re so happy with our whole experience with The Fat Badger. If we ever find ourselves back in York we will be back again for sure.

Lovely atmosphere, and we had a cosy corner; the staff were generous in allowing us to occupy our table for more than the allotted time, for which we were grateful. However, one of our party's food wasn't good: this is the second time at the FB that we've been served radically undercooked giant cous-cous, making a starter largely inedible; also having asked for decaff coffee I was served caff, for which I paid in the subsequent 24 hours! I suspect the FB is struggling for staff in the kitchen, with which I sympathise, but this aspect of an otherwise good experience could have been better. View menu
